Live A Live, and Star Ocean the Divine Force are better
Forspoken is not a jrpg it shouldnt even be called a jrpg its a disgrace
Thank you ❤
Got 98% of the trophies, really enjoyed this game, has the best traversal of any open world game and super fun combat it you really explore the possibilities. Also you can buy an item that increases your mana collection radius using old coins from a zombie guy.
Y'all already know y'all flash and panned it
of course, this game will seem good when you haven't played games that are better written.
Yes it does deserve the hate. Get woke go broke. Not really an open world game when you can't explore and everything is linear.
THANK you for the review. Stay you!
Does this mean we can now talk you into looking at Mass Effect and BioShock?
Let me guess, the deity that was spurring you on was the real bad guy all along. Sorry, it’s just that Square Enix has been infatuated with that trope for a while. Seriously, name me one game from last decade aside from Tomb Raider that they didn’t use that with.
Been playing it for the last couple of days, i do not understand the hate it gets neither. The main character might be a bit annoying and seem unpleasant in general. But 1 she is a new yorker and homeless in my opinion she is still pretty descent compared to what life has thrown at her and in comparison to my american colleagues 😅. Its fun to play and a nice change after playing a grind to win game like Elden Ring. But thats just my opinion 🤣
Yesss
Well I did not get to play the game because I do not have a PS5 or Xbox series or PC that's capable of handling it I did however watch 8 hours worth of the game and for starters the story is trash I get very tired of seeing my black community be used yet again as a struggle scene I rather would have liked to see her as a professor who is an anthropologist and a study of cultures and magics and myths and she falls into this world excited to see a new world and she tries to help the world out instead of I'm angry I wish to leave until magical realm. Then fall into a magical realm and then wish to go back home but hate everything else until the ending of course The gameplay was okay and the magic system was pretty boring I wanted to see each different magic system and she has each different move style with that magic instead of it was the same base when I say must out take up chapter from being at a three and two and one and it add that corporation into it It don't deserve a huge hate train but since it's a black woman as a lead is always going to be a hate trade which sucks. But I am Grandma Cynthia and I will always say the Earth is your stage and the sun and moon is your spotlight so you give the universe one hell of a show. Plus square enix could have done better in the marketing horrible marketing
Forspoken exposes alot of fakery in modern gaming by the way great review with legit criticism this is real gamer talk not clout chasing bums
What do I think of this game. I think this game is fucking awesome.
I had zero interest in this game. Capitalizing on the popular isekai trope really, really didn't sell me on top of the fifty-shades-of-gray color palette apparently we western gamers love. But someone asked me to try the demo for them and I ended up liking the battle system a great deal. I spent a lot of time to the point I can get very good battle ratings and make bosses cry. So I think that alone sold me so I got the game and are just a few hours into it. Some people say the story is great and others are lukewarm about it, but I think I'll see for myself despite my being iffy on the premise.
Ironically, people said the demo was bad, but I found it had a lot of content and it's what sold me on the game lol. The biggest problem probably was it drops you into the middle of it so you got a lot of systems and spells you weren't eased into. I know I felt overwhelmed, but I took my time with it.
And the open world exploration I hear copies the Ubisoft template, but since I don't play those I used Breath of the Wild as a comparison and the things you find are FAR more rewarding in this game than in BOTW which only had consumable weapons and shrine health boosts to offer most of the time. At least in the demo I was able to get a new spell and stat boosts, hidden bosses and challenge events. I hear these boosts don't help that much because the game is pretty easy, but I bet you'll absolutely need these boosts on harder difficulties which you can adjust anytime so if you're overpowered you can just bump things up a notch on the spot.
3:52 The only glowing review I've read, from Gaming Nexus, notes in his introduction he's also mostly a JRPG nut and highly enjoyed the game. Something to consider for JRPG nuts who wnat to check out Square Enix's and Luminous' latest entry. Maybe the game was meant more for us than the mainstream crowd ironically considering Luminous was founded to "appeal to a global audience".
3:16 I think I'll be fine considering both Persona and Yakuza have 3 hour + long introductions. If you're that itchy for gameplay and don't want story, don't play RPGs.
Its refreshing to see a positive review. Unfortunately I couldn't overcome the dialogue. Maybe it was spot on and that's how real new york girsl talk. If that is the case, I guess I better stay away form new york…
I really loved this game. I thought it was fun and made exploring the world fun as well.
My biggest complaint would have to be that they did Tanya Olas real dirty by making her so… anticlimactic. She was my favorite of the three design-wise and I had been really looking forward to her fight, which… yeah…
Great review David. As informative as you were though i don't think I will be getting this game because despite the fun looking gameplay I just can't stand that type of dialog. It's why i never really liked the MCU. Also the PC optimisation could be better and for me the game costs 9,600 yen on Steam. I will keep your review in mind though when I get a better graphics card and it goes on sale.
my fav review of the game 🌟
i love the dialogue too i agree. idk why its so hated. Frey seems so real, her reacting in amazement to having magic powers is a bad thing apparently *shrugs*
A month ago I wrote a comment in your video about the demo of this game where I said that overall it did not convinced me, but after this review and SuperDerek' s video, maybe, just maybe I might give it a chance despite the mid reviews (mid and bad are not the same thing to me like many seems to think, if a game is ok I might still take a look at it), but not at 80€, maybe 20€ max, and especially not when I am playing some games that have top priority to me like The Witcher 3 o Harvestella that I am playing right now on switch or Elden Ring after I am done with RDR 2 on PS5, otherwise it would just be left behind :v
Is it a lock on target system or do you aim yourself?
The toxic misogynistic gamer comunnity was biased to hate this game since It was announced. People couldnt get through the female black character in a matriarch society prerogative and started bashing the game, so of course at the end not much would change. A lot of the criticism makes sense, but the hate this game erupted on the community does not.
Who wants to bet this game will be offered for free on the Epic Game Store in 2-3 years?
Literally stopped watching at 3:20 when you said that if you manage to go through first 2 hours you'll have a good time with the game and that cringe dialogs are NOT actually cringey but fit somehow.Oh shit man,you need to wake up too
bro such an honest and fair review imo. I honestly am guilty of flash judging this game until I saw my friend stream it. I was wrong. The gripes I thought I would have turned out to be fairly minor (so far at least) and they ended up matching yours. I was wrong on this one, it's not a bad game imo. Thanks for the review as always David!
My main problem was with the plot/story delivery and character development of Frey – she is insufferable for 90% of the game
I think I'm gonna switch the buttons to horizons lay out. It'll help.
Glad you like the game! I didn't pay attention to the hate bandwagon and I gave it a fair chance to form my own opinion and I love it. It's definitely getting way too much unwarranted hate and negativity by people who likely haven't even played it
I will check it out if it does swings over to PC for sure 👍 so you’ve haven’t tried any BioWare games yet? I’m a new subscriber, my wife and I are huge RPG fans and we found your channel 👍
Honest Review, An not the malice agenda media with this game.
As always this was a great review from you that actually told me about the game and what I'd need to know. I'm glad you, and others I know are enjoying it.
If anyone making games takes a note from this please let it be the adjustable font sizes 😂
I'm glad they listened to the feedback from the demo. It seems very rare that developers take the time to fix things before release!
I loved playing this game despite its flaws (I also hardly play any other AAA titles, basically only Square-Enix ones like FF7R). The story was good enough, just poorly told at times. I was blown away by the combat, which I found to be exceptional after getting over the high learning curve.
It’s kind of weird to hear you justify your opinion to hate on something while dismissing others for doing the same. You hate Chrono Cross, I get it. I like it. I don’t think it deserves the hate you continually give it. I like your channel and the way you talk about games. I just find it unnecessary to bring that kind of negativity.
I think this video would flow better if you cut the dead-air out between sentences. There doesn't need to be a big pause between line reads.
