dogs are special creatures, they fit in with us so well we treat them like family and thing they are part of our pack, the notion of family and a pack is so similar dogs just fit right the family unit.
one of the special things about dogs is like us they also have emotional states, look at the youtube video's of dogs that messed up and are scolded, the exhibit feeling of guilt and remorse that is plain to see, but since dogs have emotional states like us, this means they can and do read our emotional states, in fact they cannot understand language besides key words, but they read us like a book in other ways, they actually study us and know all our moods and emotional states, dogs actually go to the trouble of studying us, but thats not all, dogs are one of the few animals we can put to work and the ones good at their jobs are good at it because the enjoy the task, look at sheep dogs, some get so good at handling sheep they get a full time job on the farm, but they are never forced to work because its only the dogs who enjoy there work who get hired, so if a dog that is no good at finding truffles it wont be hired like the dog that finds the hide seek game with the truffles a bit of a thrill, so it will get the job as truffle hunter, like wise the sheep dogs, it's only the dogs that get a thrill out of the work who get highly skilled and are put to work, the dog that does not get a thrill out of it wont have the motivation to take orders and make a point of chasing down a sheep that has strayed from the flock with zeal.
there are seeing eye dogs, drug or detection dogs and all sorts of tasks dogs can be trained for with only the dogs who take the task serious and become experts in it,
then there is the mystery of dogs with special abilities, like epileptic person who notices that just before they are about to have a fit the dog starts acting weird and strange as if it were trying to communicate with it's owner, after some number of episodes the epileptic realizes that when their dog starts acting strange in that way they need to sit on the floor and wait for the epileptic fit to pass, this is not a one off either it is actually common, look at the little dog that persistently kept liking the same spot on her shin, this made the owner look more closely at the spot and the test revealed that she had skin cancer on that exact spot on her shin, how can a dog know that cancer is there and signal to her owner to look at that exact spot, dogs have a mysterious side to there nature, but really all a dog wants is a family or a pack to belong to and be included in as much as possible, like my dog i take him every where i can, even if it;s a five minute drive to the shop, and actually my reads me like a book in many ways, when he hears me or my girl say l
" let's go" even before we have time to stand up he has jumped of the bed or couch and run into the hallway and pokes his nose back into the room saying where ever your going i am coming, nobody taught him let's go mean we are leaving the house, he just worked it out because dogs are always looking and listening and learning about us, there are several other tricks my dog has that surprise `me, but even when we leave them at home to go to work or out some where, the first thing the dog will do is gather intel on where we have been, they will sniff at us, sniff our hands to see what we had for lunch, or detect the faintest hint of perfume we got from a close by woman in a lift, all in all dogs give us great service and make excellent companions, it is common for dogs to console their distressed owners, because dogs have emotional states they can read our emotional states and they know the manifestations there owners are making indicates distress, even without physical tears,
dog deserve our praise and it would be better for many dogs to be given some sort of fictitious job instead of playing fetch all the time, someone should invent a process to put dogs to work, like the dog who helps bring in the shopping the dog is happy to join in bringing in the shopping it feels good to the dog to contribute, right now i am trying to think of a game or a task i can give my dog that he would enjoy, a mock job sort of, basically my dog is an australian sheep dog, he gets very, very excited when i bring out the high speed remote controlled buggy, he stalks it, chases it, and watches it from the garden bed and when it gets near he pounces on it without touching it, he basically rounds it up, he loves this game because there is a lot for him to do instinctively, stalking, chasing, pouncing, and rounding it up, when he crouches and watches it from the garden bed i drive close and he pounces, also he cant take his eyes off it, you can see the same mental concentration that sheep dogs have on the sheep they are working, that intense stare is full of extreme mental concentration, the battery only last less than 10 minutes, but by then he has worked up a big thirst and he huffs and puffs, it's and excellent work out for him, because so much of him mind is involved, especially the intense mental concentration on the buggy whizzing around,
i cant yet think of a mock job or task i can train him on, a task that looks like a useful job, like the dog that helps bring in the shopping, the dog feels good about contributing to the pack, if i can think of and set up a task that looks like some sort of work my dog can do he will be even happier, sheep dogs hate to be idle all the time, they want action and excitement,

And why i care if dogs is happy . It is just animals

My dog hurt his paw. It got caught on the end of a fence link that was poorly placed. After some medical treatment and applying some bandaging (it wasn't A major wound) I still had his cries of pain stuck in my head. So this is my therapy.
