How many times should we reintroduced them? We had 1 cat (Jarred) for 4 years before the other cat(Willow). . Jarred is very territorial and use Willow as prey. When she comes out the room, he immediately jumps on her and begin to bite.
This was a bad vid tbh
My kitten was in my bed and begin licking my cat head.and my older cat accepts at firsf but then slap the kitten head 3 slaps .no claws out.what does it mean..should i be concern
Lesson number one, having two females one being a calico one being a torte is a big mistake.
Dude i love your style❤
If the cat is in heat they can get aggressive
My cats play fights always begin with excessively grooming each other until they flip out, it’s the cutest thing ❤
"Cat detectivism", I also watch Jackson Galaxy to improve my cat vocabulary.
How do i get more resources when we all share one bed 😢 sometimes i wake up to my 4 year old 6lb sphynx jumping my 15 year old 15lb siamese in the dark of the night and scaring him off my bed. Shes evil! My poor old man never gets to sleep in peace!
Jackson Galaxy videos like this have been a big help as I've taken in two wandering cats. The first, Ombre, was estimated to be 3 years old. He was severely starved and an old bite wound on his tail had led to a systemic infection that made every movement excruciating. The night I brought him in, I texted my son, and he brought supplies. Ombre jumped onto the new crate, before it was put together, and part of it came up and banged his chin. Poor Ombre froze and couldn't move for what seemed like an eternity. You know that's a cat in pain. Out in the neighborhood he couldn't get enough to eat before the other cats elbowed him away from the food. He couldn't fight for it. I took care of him until he was healthy, and he was comfortably owning everything in my home. It was a perfect set up. But then I had to trap a different street cat that was spraying into my windows and doors. That poor guy couldn't help it, he was a compulsive sprayer. I saw him spraying as he walked along the edges of this apartment complex. I had planned to release him after neutering, but the vet advised against it because he's FIV+. They don't want him in the situation of getting into fights with other street cats and spreading the virus. But what about Ombre??? I struggled with this. They had been companions in the community, and after Ombre came to live here, his old buddy hung out on the windowsill just sharing company. They got along pretty well, other than the old buddy spraying on Ombre if the window was open. It actually started when Ombre was neutered. That spray began to take over Ombre's territory, which is the main reason I wanted to get Ginger neutered. Ginger is estimated to be 2 years old, and he is assertive. He was always getting into fights in the neighborhood, battling for queens and usually coming out as the winner. He was a very proud tomcat, head and tail high no matter what the weather. Bringing him in where Ombre had finally gotten his own territory was really sad. Ombre decided to try to chase him out. He went Napoleonic, and understandably so. After all, it was probably the first time in his life that he had his own space where everything was his or his and his human's. And then along comes a pushy encroacher taking over what used to be Ombre's spaces. Ombre insisted on leaving his own scent all over anything that was intended for Ginger. I even have two cat towers set up for them, but Ombre wants them both. The only thing left for me to do was to play with them to get their energy levels down. Usually they go at it at 1AM, even if I've played with them late at night before bed. But I dealt with it, adjusting my schedule to take a nap so I could be up with them at 1AM, at least until they would be comfortable knowing they each have territory. And it's paying off. It's hard work, but it pays off in the long run.
My take would be primarily a fight over resources, so more catification, all over, different areas, different heights. Secondarily it may be that Pudim may need more play to get it out of his system.
It would be interesting to know if they were gotten together, or if Olivia was first (or older). I say that, because Olivia seems to have the 'top spot' on the box, and Pudim wants it. Going crazy with the catification would eliminate most of it.
My cats constantly go back and forth. The 7 month old is more pushy for play and the 4 year old will play for a while but then she gets tired of it where he just wants to keep going and going to the point where he starts to hurt her (yelps, whines, hisses, jumps to a high place to avoid him) but then she'll get down from safety and he's on her again. I would get annoyed to if someone keeps sitting on me and putting me in a chokehold.
Please help, my cats are husband and wife, they have loved each other had 3 kittens, 2 kittens are gone. So baby girl 4 months old is third cat. They are all spayed. They have been fighting. Hissing. Never like that. I'm not sure.
❤❤
This is hilarious!
You're brilliant. No one knows cats, and how to solve cat problems, like you do.
My two cat didnt get along, my cat lily prefer to be alone she just want to play if she want to but my other cat luna always chase lily at night and lily always hissing and scream to luna its break my heart seeing them like that.. i feel like im a bad parents i dont know what to do
I have a cat. My son's family moved in with their cat. Their cat keeps attacking my cat. I have given him love, treats. I even put a bowl of his food and water next to my cat's
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😘😬💀 I 💀 to 💀😬💀 I 😘💀💜❤️💓💞💙1
Fantastic video as always! Please can we see one with signs that they are possibly starting to bond. Not sure what is pre aggression and what is sniffing to see if I can trust you. New cat is always submissive but not fearful even when attacked will just get up and go off. Old cat is the aggressor. Love to see what signs that are positive look like as we are clueless. What we are seeing is not classic like this. It's like one cat acting like a serial biller and the other is acting like Rose on Golden Girls.
What should I do when the cats are fighting over who gets to be with us in the bed at night?
You are the best, Jackson Galaxy…thank you for sharing.
I have an appartement with only 2 rooms in total and the door seperating them dosn't completely work since Helios (my 4 month old) is very smart and learnd to open it. So introducing him to Kiki (my 3 month old) by sent faild miserabely. I followed the advice of another cat youtuber about introducing cats in small appartements. They have not fully fought yet cleaned themselfs with tho ther close to them. But they pretend to attack one another and make very heartbreaking "gurei" sounds (bearly any hissing or anything and no physical attacs). They both follow eachother. Both act that way. I am very confused about this being them fighting or getting to know eachother in a healthy or unhealthy way.
Hello, i am seeing a bit the same fighting as happens here, only here its between mother and son, it happens about twice a day that the son goed for his mom, she growls, hisses and runs away but he stil goed after her, what is it that he goes after his mom , i have an older cat from 16 who they leave in peace, and a kitten from six months , the son is 5 and the mother is 8, this problem is longer honing on than the kitten is here so thats not the problem i guess. Can you help me???
We've got 7 cats, and we're having a very similar problem. We've already done the obvious stuff. We've got 4 large cat trees around the house 3 window seats, one wall of cat shelves with two different beds on it, 6 litter boxes, and we still have issues with fights breaking out. The only other thing we can think of is playing with them more, but it's difficult to effectively play with them all?
Excellent video thank u so much 👌🏽🥰✌🏽♥️♥️♥️😻😻😻
The other day I had to throw pillows at them to separate the fight. They were entangled in a ball bitting eachother and screaming. One of the cats bit the other in the ass. That's how it started. I couldn't believe it.
OMG!! The smack down!!!! I have many of those!!! What's funny is that KleaKatraBella (KleeKlee) gets a beat down from Sparticus BUT sometimes she comes back for more. What does that mean?? I also have lived in a multi-unit building for years and cannot scream at them so I do the PPPSSSSSSSTTT!!! and they know what that means. One time I was recording an obnoxious neighbor and forgot to turn it off while I was sleeping. OMG!!! Li'l did I know OR HEAR, while I was asleep, that there was an all out brawl. LOL!🙀🙀🙀 How did I not hear that???? It would be a good recording for a movie!! LOL!!!
Thanks Jackson. I adopted a 2nd male cat a month ago and I've had trouble telling whether they're fighting or playing. There's fur flying but in between they just sit calmly in the room together.
Ut-oh, my kitty (13-15) weeks old & my 2 year old cat play fight but I do see the flatting of the ears in the kitten but, she won't leave or she comes back for more. It's a mix of playing & fighting . Hhhmmmm 🤔
So glad I've seen this. I'm a first time cat owner and I jumped in at what I thought was the deep end by bringing home 2 kittens from a litter when originally I was only getting one. I have been terrified watching them play/fight but I had noticed that no matter how rough it gets the 'underdog' never runs away and when they do finally take a breather, she is always the one to start it up again so you have confirmed it seems like healthy play
Jackson is amazing his advice and tips have helped us bring a new kitten friend home for our 13 yr old Balinese baby. I did months of research before deciding on bringing him home. And I was so worried when they started rough housing I was sure they were fighting and hurting one another but I see now they are playing and have become friends. It will take isis 13yr old female awhile before she is ready to curl up on the couch with Capone 13 wk old male. But she has adjusted well to her new playmate and it makes me so happy. Isis has never had any social skills before so this was scary for us to introduce them to one another. Im glad we did and that Jackson gave wonder tips for the introduction
I also have 2 cats and the oldest fights over everything. They have their own places but they fight over everything. What can i do? They fight almost all day
I have to cats one want to play and the younger one thinks it’s a fight and get rough what do I do ?
My one month old kitten onyx and 5month old kitten possum they don't like being each other's space. Onyx wants to just rub itself up against possum and possum just hisses and then bats with Claws just once.
We found your advice after we had adopted our kitten, Jack, and after three weeks and watching some of your videos, we went back yesterday and adopted his last littermate (currently known as Sam, but we are still in discussion on his name). They are 14 weeks old now. Jack is very content at our house (lots of smurgling and loafing, etc), and seemed a bit upset by his brother's arrival, so we've been following your advice with introducing them slowly. Now I'm wondering if we should speed things up because they are kittens and they aren't likely to get seriously rough with each other? Jack is very intent on getting into Sam's basecamp, but there has also been some hissing and growling by Jack when they've glimpsed each other (it is hard to keep a clever kitten out of a room he wants into). Don't want Jack to be jealous of people going into a room with Sam, or Sam to feel isolated.
I just wanted to know if my cat was actually angry at me or if the fighting is us playing because I still can’t tell.
So I got a cat piano male neutered on a Tuesday he’s about five or six months and then four days later I got a 12 week old kitten female neutered cupcake. I’ve been trying to do the introduction process properly scent swapping and site swapping feeding on opposite sides of the door. I recently put them together this is week one and the younger kitten seems more like the aggressor. So when the six month old noticed her aggression he gets aggressive and scares me and I have to put her back in her safe place. I’ve noticed my cat the six month old get on places that is high to try to pounce on her and jump on her and she runs & hides under the chair and then sometimes she comes to him and starts hissing. He ignores her for a bit then she annoys him & they start hissing growling swatting, or playing I’m not really sure I need help! She’s so tiny I know she is afraid when he attacks, but why does she go & bother him.
The woman clearly hasn't done her research though. You can clearly see its fighting because of their body language.
The ears thing confuses me. Whenever my cat comes up to cuddle, she always has her ears flat against her head. Everywhere I read says that this is a defensive or aggressive body language.
But she's not scared or anything. She comes up to me and kneads me, purrs, and head butts. But her ears are flat the whole time
The tricky thing with my cat is that the "resource" is the view. Only he is allowed to look out the back door.
Wait, is one named Puta? Lol
