The game I put down for six months just due to the final boss before finally beating. But the pure joy in watching that my Dad hands still have more skill in this game than the ninja cat-like reflexes of a teenager. (But really, the Morph Ball has always had me wondering…how…why?)
I'm glad this game went through development hell for 15 years and skipped being released on the Nintendo DS. This game was truly incredible on the Switch. I hope Nintendo continues to make more Metroid games

Samus has hollow bones due to having a pinch of bird dna. Think of her morph ball like the trick where a magician pops a bird out of an egg.

Metroidvania
You know that running joke in Zelda trailers where, when they're listing the characters at the end, they always refer to Link as Zelda? I kinda wish they'd do that here by referring to Samus as Metroid.
the call outs about the parry system and my now aged brain felt very personal.
I'm going to be honest… I don't like Metroid Dread and I didn't like Samus Returns remake either. Melee counters have NO place in this franchise whatsoever I hate the mechanic and it's just not Metroid to me. Mercurysteam has taken Metroid in the wrong direction with their boss fight mechanics and melee counters. What really pisses me off is people are just eating it up. Metroid II: AM2R is the direction all future games should have taken it but of course things didn't work out that way. Metroid hasn't had a game I personally liked since Zero Mission/Prime 2/3 if that tells you anything.
Buying Metroid Dread was a huge waste of money and disappointing overall. It’s more fun playing Super Metroid.

You know, I finally played this, and I only had the most trouble with the parry during the E.M.M.I. and Ravenbeak. I was used to the parry because, like a huge nerd, I've played both Other M and Samus Returns on 3DS.
At this point, Samus IS the Metroid!

Yeah that one was me. I racked up so much time backtracking to try and get the suit upgrades before i got pissed and started looking up locations online. Fun game though. I should do another playthrough on that

I'm kinda convinced at this point that since Chozo tech seems to merge engineering amd magic that what happens (judging by the Prime portrayal) that Samus is basically aetherized or converted into energy whenever she engages the moroh ball.
