AWS Partner Network: Driving innovation and global growth

As Amazon Web Services Inc. continues to stamp its authority as a leading cloud services provider, the AWS Partner Network empowers businesses to grow, innovate, expand their reach and create value for clients, according to Chris Grusz (pictured), managing director of technology partnerships at AWS.

By leveraging the resources and opportunities offered by the APN, businesses can differentiate themselves, enhance their market position and drive growth effectively, Grusz explained.

AWS’ Chris Grusz talks to theCUBE about the game-changing effect of the AWS Partner Network.

“I manage all the technology partners that are in the Amazon Partner Network,” he said. “There’s the infrastructure partners … those are all the security and storage and networking partners that we’ve worked with for years. I’ve have a second team that focuses on the horizontal business applications. I’ve got a third team that’s really focused on these vertical industry-specific ISVs. Then I’ve got a fourth team that focuses specifically on startups, and we want to cultivate those startups and win those ISVs.”

Grusz spoke with theCUBE Research’s John Furrier and Dave Vellante for theCUBE’s “Cloud AWS re:Invent Coverage,” during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed the transformative impact of the AWS Partner Network.

Delving deeper into the relationship between AWS Partner Network and AWS Marketplace

The AWS Marketplace and the AWS Partner Network complement each other to create a robust network. As a result, the Marketplace acts as a stepping stone toward a stronger and more vibrant AWS ecosystem, according to Grusz. 

“Marketplace is still a big charter because the tech partners obviously leverage Marketplace and it’s our primary route to market,” he said. “In the last year, just on the Marketplace side alone, we had 45 marquee launches, and you hear a handful of them this week with Marketplace Everywhere and so on. We’re going to continue to innovate. Internationalization is a big focus. You’re going to see more and more international capability from the Marketplace.”

Since AWS provides a robust, scalable and secure infrastructure, the platform is witnessing an uptick in enterprise resource planning systems. This is based on factors, such as easier management, Grusz pointed out. 

“I think there’s a couple reasons why a lot of them, SAP included, are really moving to the cloud,” he said. “One, it makes it a lot easier for the customers when you’re running the cloud platform. Then they can really focus on the ERP technology. The second piece is Marketplace has just become a great way to transact and we’ve been buying all of our infrastructure products. The third piece that gets really exciting is, when they’re now in the cloud, they can start to do generative AI applications, combining data in SAP and then using that with data in AWS in kind of a zero ETL format.”
