What about just the tip? I just rescued one who we are working with and he sleeps in my bed. We have some type of bond. But sometimes he gets pets and lays down and just the tip of his tail flicks back and forth while hes laying down. Not from the base. The rest of him seems chill. But hes looking at me. My 5 month old kitten will jump up onto the bed, do a little “blllrp” sound and then sit on my chest, facing me before he tucks his head up towards my neck/shoulder area and then rolls over onto his back, I’ll hold him and gently scratch his neck. During this time he’s purring like a damn engine, but that tail is thumping, swishing down onto the duvet hard and just doesn’t stop, even when his eyes are closed and he’s just continuing to lay on me

My cat does this thing where he makes himself look big by raising his back, sometimes with puffy tail, near his food bowl when he wants food. When I come over to get kibbles from his bag he immediately changes body language and he turns around and raises his tail. He is the only cat I have met that does this

My cat always has her tail curled up like a shiba inu's. I could never figure out why. The tail comes down when she sits or lies down and otherwise moves normally. But when she is walking it's curled counterclock-wise … has always been like that. Weird

Thanks, that's very helpful. I do have a question though: I have a very sick cat right now, vet says it's either IBD or Lymphoma. She's 11 years old. She's had a previous history of unknown liquid in her abdomen which was drained. The vets drained around 350ml. Now, she's skin and bones, and I'm fairly sure, terminal. She's swishing her tail roughly from side to side a lot of the time. I take that to mean she's in a lot of pain? She's barely eating. Drinking a lot. Is there anything aside from seeing a vet about medication that I can do for her, if it is pain?

Thank you for being here to help us. We found actually they found us 3 cats we did find out that are area clips part of the ear tip to signal to humans that these cats have been spade. So now on to us trying to care for them we are never had cats only dogs. Your videos helped us so much that said these are very friendly cats and even let us pick them up and hold them for a few. Sadly one I call my favorite we were getting along for some time and I didn't know how to read a tail and I went in with my finger an stoke the side of Moonlight and she bite me not super hard so I backed off and gave space.
