Meanwhile here in 2023, Apple TV is making better content then Disney+.
It's always stumped me a little bit as to why Epic chose to spoof the '84 Mac commercial for this. I mean for the MESSAGING, I totally get it. But their demographic….? How many people under the age of 30 —let alone children!— actually know what that commercial IS?
Epic agreed to the Apple's rules, Then they broke the rules. You broke the rules of the store so you don't get to be on the store.
10:27 the end goal is to have ALL the money
Update: Epic did make an Among Us mode.
Jim hits the nail on the head as always. In particular I have an axe to grind with Epic and if you want to learn more about the details of the Epic store, please check out this takedown on my channel:

Well Apple won't be making millions and millions of dollars from Fornight as they not only through them off the Apple store but shut down Epic's Apple development account.
this is kind of our fight developers have to price there products baised on there cost and games and micro trasactions would cost the end user less
Lmao what's funny all you cry babies saying stupid shit (Apple Lost The Lawsuit Verdict Was Said)
calling apple as having a monopoly over the ios app store market, is like calling IKEA having a monopoly over the IKEA meatball market.
You can see how that precedent will be abused lol
I stay well away from ANY company that TenCent has a stake in..and you all should too!
Whenever this happens I was just playing some Super Mario 64 and when I saw the post about the free fortnite movement I fell of my chair laughing it is so stupid im no fucking slave I said
You still can't view all comment WITH OUT going to the website….
Epic store is so bad.
Not to mention they policy of trying to monopolise by exclusive deals. Then saying "but steam and apple have better monopole rights"
Yeah but i can play most games on GoG with out steam daddy saying "you can't son it's steam exclusive
tbh it isnt even Apple's fault epic games broke the terms of conditions/rules and apple are giving the punishment in the form of banning the app.its epic's fault lmfao
epic games is the worst company
also, I don't understand how more user freedom is ever a bad thing
I know this rhetoric sounds silly, but remember that apple played the 1984 card years earlier
LMFAO Epic Games is the Hero Apple isn't no FUCKING HERO
What do you mean, just last year were trying to secure as many exclusives as possible to starve the market etc. They're still doing that.
Correction. Google does not actually have any rules against implementing your own in-app payments system. You're free to use their system, and you're also free to not. And if you ever want to release an app that doesn't meet Play Store policies, or you just want to be free of Google, then you're also free to use any of the 3rd party app stores available and completely bypass the need for Google to take a cut at any part of the process. Apple doesn't have that option and they locked it down in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" kind of way where you're stuck with their draconian rules because you rely on the app store and Apple are in full control of who is allowed to make money and who is not on their platform. Do something they don't like? Too bad, that was your only option and now you've lost it.
For someone like me who believes in actually owning their devices (and that means having complete control of what i put on it) I just can't agree with apple's strict policing, so anyone who stands up to that, even for the wrong reasons, is doing okay by me. At some point a line has to be drawn where consumers and devs clearly say "this is as far as this bullshit goes" or things are just gonna get worse and worse, more locked down and less functional as a result. As consumers we have the ability to vote with our wallets, and hit them where it hurts. The only way they will stop their anti-consumer practices is if it's made clear that the consumers will no longer accept it. Any time Apple does something people don't like, like removing the headphone jack, stop buying their devices. If you keep buying them, then you're simply accepting how shitty things are and basically telling Apple it's okay to have shitty practices, and other manufacturers will see it and go "oh, they got away with that? let's do the same".
Epic's position here is much the same – they are hitting Apple where it hurts, because they know how much money Fortnite is making Apple. That is the only real way we have to affect actual positive change in the consumer market. No, they are not saints, and yes, they are totally doing all this to fuel their own greed and at the same time get some good PR for "standing up for the little guy". But they're doing the right thing, and they're one of the few companies well funded enough to go up against Apple in a court. So if it had to be them, then better that than not having anyone to stand up and say "enough of your bullshit" when everybody else is scared to.
Epic going after Google seems more preemptive than anything – the same issues they complained about on the Apple side of things still exist there, but Google doesn't strictly enforce anything nearly as much, so you're free not to use their services if you don't want to give them a cut. Their arguments against Apple don't really hold up against Google, because no one is forcing you to do anything. Don't like Google's services taking a cut? Don't use them. So why would they go after Google then? Well, obviously, because they want them to lower their fees, for their own monetary gains. You can certainly argue that going after Apple is helping the customer and it isn't primarily purely to fuel Epic's own greed. You couldn't really argue the same thing on the Google side of things. None of us are likely to see any benefits from lower fees. Devs aren't gonna lower their prices, when they could make more money instead. Going after Google (who I thought did relatively OK here since they give people options, if no one's forcing you to use their services, then you don't really get to complain about it when you're not actively doing anything to help make the situation better yourself. Using their services means you accept their terms. They are not the be-all end-all, if you don't accept their terms, you can roll your own payment solution or go with a 3rd party and likely have no significant impact on your customers or the amount of sales you receive other than some minor grumbling the first time when people have to re-enter all their payment information. Customers are not even likely to notice the change beyond "oh, it doesn't recognize all the payment info saved already through Google Pay/Apple Pay or equivalent, i have to type it in again". Apple though? It's our way or the highway. If you don't like it, take your business elsewhere, we don't want you.) helps nobody but Epic themselves.
If you are a parent with kids, make sure they don't play fortnite or other AAA games.
Hey guys there a other way to get fornite on android or any devices step 1. Go to google and search up epic games step 2. Download it then search fornite and download it
90's Epic Games > Modern Epic Games
my only real reason why i still have Epic Games Store installed on my PC is described in 2 words, Unreal Tournament
Epic Games these days are a complete joke now days, but back in tha 90's, Epic Games was a completely different ballgame back when had tha right to call themselves Epic MegaGames! last time Epic Games was decent was in tha Mid 2000's but after tha Mid 2000's, Epic Games became tha complete trash they are now
tha same Epic Games i knew and loved from back in tha day feels like a completely different company today :/ btw, Apple is overrated and Google… meh i want my Nokia days back
also there's sadly no escape from Epic Games cause "guess who made Unreal Engine and still widely used in 95% of games for tha past 20 or so years.. guess who?….
