Late to the party, but I think it should be noted that a more accurate picture of how to rank these weapons could be accomplished by MULTIPLYING their damage and durability, rather than adding. Essentially asking "What is the maximum possible damage that I can do with this weapon before it breaks?"
With this in mind, the numbers for the weapons in this video (with no upgrades) would be…
Royal Broadsword: 36 * 36 = 1296
Guardian Sword++: 40 * 32 = 1280
Scimitar of the Seven: 32 * 60 = 1920
Ancient Short Sword: 40 * 54 = 2160
Savage Lynel Sword: 58 * 41 = 2378

I feel like how breath of the wild is wonderful. But i fell like this game is made over wind waker style and engine because the way the weapons drop on the ground and the way the enemies dies are almost equal
