It is the safest RPG I’ve ever played, the most dated new game I’ve ever ever played, and the smallest big open world you’ll ever see.
So much wasted potential. Another unfinished game published by bethesduh in the hopes that the mod community will fix all the glaring errors and add content. I put a lot (over a thousand) hours into the loading screen simulator before I figured out that it was not, in fact, ever going to get better.
every character was just soooo likeable. couldn't put the game down because i wanted to get to know them so badly

I was so dissapointed with starfield, was expecting a 9/10 with amazing bugs, got a solid 6/10 with a bunch of gamebreaking save corrupting bugs.

It was my personal biggest disappointment of 2023. I was so excited for this game. Ended up being so bored. Gave it a fair shot, 100+ hours and still couldn't finish it. No excitement. No interesting random encounters. Missions were bland and NPCs were forgettable. Such a let down….

Honestly it’s one of my favorite games ever.
Honestly, "Starfield" doesn't look bad. You certainly highlighted that everyone is a boring Lawful Good space cop, but… it honestly doesn't look bad at all. It's certainly not awe-inspiring or memorable, but it's not bad .

Okay, this is actually true. This is totally accurate!
If an astronaut is a person who can survive a flight into space, maintain his bodily integrity from things like oxygen deprivation, and understand the operating procedures and tasks on the ship, then anyone with significant physical fitness can become an astronaut. There ARE astronauts with unique and highly specialized skills: a normal man cannot do a space walk to repair something without training, and a normal man cannot fly a spaceship, but he CAN land on the moon and pick up samples. He CAN exercise on the ship and monitor life support. He CAN follow orders.
Astronauts and oil drillers have vastly diverging skills, and oil drillers make six digit salaries for a reason. The intricate machinery of an oil rig, and the power of that machinery, requires months, if not years of training to be an expert . To be an astronaut, unless you are also working on equipment, or driving the rocketry (etc.), you need to be physically fit. Remember, bore the Challenger shuttle blew up, NASA successfully trained a teacher to be an astronaut. They taught her the safety rules, what to expect in the ship, and prepared her body for intense G-forces.
More importantly, much of space equipment is operated and monitored at home. For instance, in the most recent landing on the dark side of the moon's south pole by America, the machinery was guided remotely by scientists. In all of the Apollo missions, a manual override existed in the form of a switch, but it was never used outside of (IIRC) Apollo Thirteen.
In "Armageddon", the approach of the meteoroid is fast approaching, and it is easier to find physically fit, healthy oil drillers and just throw them into space with the scientists doing the calibrations to land them. I would take far longer to take an astronaut who is used to intricate electronics or very specialized tasks and trust him with machinery as ablative, heavy, and complex (in a different way) as oil drills.

When the Creation KIt comes out odds are that you will be able to add your ship to the default ships in the ship store and that will be great. Who wants to spend hours designing a kickass ship only to have to let it go in NG+ or rebuild it from nothing? It's a Bethesda game. People are using mod houses from ten years ago in Skyrim and enjoying them. If Bethesda does anything right, they should enable the same in Starfield. They put a space costume on Skyrim as it is….
