From all the praise you were giving and it vastly outweighed the critiques you had, a 7.5 seems a little low. I was expecting an 8 or maybe even an 8.5 based on the points you made. The fact that you compared it to the quality of the adventure games and you yourself said they were your favorite 3D Sonics, I'm just a little taken aback by it.
It's a phenomenal review as always, I just think there's some cognitive dissonance between the review and the number you gave it. I understand that the number is largely arbitrary and a 7.5 isn't even bad, but the score really had me do a double take.
Unless this score was mostly referring to the last gen ports, then it makes sense.
In any case though, I'm so glad you liked it as much as you did. I agree with literally everything you said, it's the most fun I've had with a Sonic game since SA2 and for the first time in 15 years, I'm happy with the direction they're taking the series.

I am playing on the switch and I am in the second zone.
It is indeed fun, but I actually play it in small portions😅
What I hate is how easy you get items from fishing, or finding in the Zone.
Don't need to go ihto the cyberspace, You find keys elsewhere…

I'm kind of surprised at how positive your review is. So far I've been hearing opinions that range from bad to mediocre at best. I appreciate hearing your take on it! I know you're fair, so it must have some redeeming qualities.
I really like this game so far after almost 6 hours. I love the rails everywhere that appear more and more as you unlock the map. So great. The next Sonic game should be an absolute masterpiece building off this foundation. I would give it an 8/10 so far.
