Biggest fear when I stood aft lookout in the middle of the night was a giant tentacle appearing from the water and dragging me out of the flight deck 😂
We are always 100% certain of everything…until proven otherwise. Then we absorb the new information and act as if it was always that way to begin with.
Bet there are creatures that exist on earth right now, of which we have no record.
The Meg…maybe.
Pleiseosaur (Loch Ness)…maybe.
Giant Moa…maybe.
Humans without any social media…that's pushing it.
Well, up to 30 yards is a standard for Megs… and that's 90 feet. Not much of an exaggeration:)
Just keep finning, just keep finning…
I BELEIVE
years ago i remeber reading a interview with a legendary Australian shark hunter, he mentioned that between nz and Australian waters there were reports of sharks being between 60 and 90 feet, ( he didnt see these huge sharks)
Tertible acting. Dont bother
"Gigantic" prehistoric fish? You alluded to the Coelacanth as being one? The biggest prehistoric Coelacanth was a smidge over 17 feet. I would HARDLY compare it to the Megalodon😅.
Just because Captain Brown has a megaladong hiding in his trousers doesn't mean there alive
“Professionals” of any field can and will lie to the public on order to hide whatever there trying to hide, ive seen it too many times to not mention it. On top of that they will make assumptions purely based off not having enough evidence of what really happened. I have a feeling theres alot that the public doesn’t know simple bc the higher ups dont want us to. I think theres more to the ocean than alot believe, i think the same with space.
Forecastle? You mean foke sal.
As someone who doesnt go in the ocean, i can tell you from experience, i’ve never seen a megaladon on land
Sharks have survived multiple planet scale extinction events…. It is not at all impossible that its bigger cousin couldnt have either
The tooth was proven to be miscalculated. You know what's warm blooded and often hunts sharks? Orcas.
"It was a shark!" "Naw, it was a U-boat." "I'm tellin' ya, it was a shark!" 😊
rip great white shark
There's just far too much ecological tax on a megalodon for it to survive this day and age… I wish I wasn't so piss-terrified of the open ocean, or I'd gladly go out and explore the waters where these giant sharks have been sighted. I mourn the fact that my mental wiring stops me from proving myself wrong here. :/
Megalodon what is it for now please let us tommorow on your own list please as I don't want you something to be a bad boys ride to be a good idea for the rest and I don't want it in my phone is it just a platinum card and usb or a phone is not responding yet I have no phone number for my goodness sake of it but he is very much appreciated
"Which has a habit of making fossils appear much younger than they are."
Hold up. How do they know its wrong?
That second account most DEFINITELY a whale shark 😂 “broad head, large pectoral fins, white or yellow spots. Looked nothing like a whale shark.” THATS EXACTLY WHAT A WHALE SHARK LOOKS LIKE 😂😂😂
Sounds like a big fish story to me.
Behemoth.
OmG! A shark breeding party. No thanks. My dad was in the Navy is WW2, I was a later in life baby, there’s 10 years between me & my next sibling. How I wish he was here to tell his stories again. He had a such & deep & healthy respect for the water. Awesome channel!
Humans are like tic tacs to me megalodon
Folks used to think the Megalodon had no other predators but the Buzzsaw fish would actively hunt and terrorize Megalodons.
About the Indianapolis shark attacks: around out of the 890 men that survived the initial sinking of the Indianapolis, it’s hard to actually estimate how many died to sharks vs sharks just were feeding on the bodies. The estimate is around a few dozen to 150 men, the rest that died succumbed to other factors like exposure and dehydration. And Great Whites and Bulls weren’t part of those attacks as they’re coastal sharks, living off shore in the warmer waters.
Oceanic White Tips, Tigers and maybe Makos were part of the number as they are or can be open ocean fish. And most would’ve gone for the dead or close to dead to conserve energy. These fish would prefer to conserve energy as meals in the open ocean are very few and very far between.
Also, no matter what you believe, Megalodon just isn’t out there. Much evidence to say it’s real has been disproven. Sharks can get big, and out in the ocean, there’s no point of measurement unless there’s a rock or shoreline. And, while it would be scary cool to have one roaming our oceans (trust me, I’d love to see one), the tale would only end in tragedy. Not for a person, but the shark. Shark finning is still a massive problem, and the money some could get from a Meg’s fins would be immense. Not to mention game hunters wanting to brag about killing a Meg.
Wartime Stories: How many of us are terrified of open water? Is it:
a. the depth
b. nothing but a vast expanse of blue fading below
c. horrible thought of what might be lurking…with nowhere for us to hide
Me: literally exactly all of the above. Thank you, sleep will be delicious tonight. XD
You ain't ever gonna see me without a safety harness on a ship or boat in the ocean. 😂
Mink
Gotta love breading season dude if that were me I highly doubt that if I would have known this no way would I have gone in the water
Blue Whales are the LAARGEST animal that EVER existed. So the idea that it was twice the size or even the same size is absurd.
Diego Garcia had a 35 foot Hammerhead.
No they didnt
I wonder how many of these sightings take place where Orcas are commonly around. It'd be hard to imagine them abiding a threat like that. Their knowledge of inducing tonic states in sharks would make them hard to escape if they were in a pod. Assuming a giant shark like that could be put into that state.
I do think Meg is still out there. The ocean is a big, mysterious place. After all, if we can lose a whole airplane…
Id rather have to fight a shark than a hungry squid
Mugatu? He's so hot right now.
I would say this a lot of food was in the ocean when the great flood happen ! I believe the dinosaurs was here all the way up to the great flood imagine the food !Nothing would've died in the deep oceans NOTHING !
It’s one thing to talk about land based cryptids and how it would be extremely difficult for things like Sasquatch to go undiscovered by the scientific community given how common, relatively speaking, sightings are. Even then, I don’t think people understand just how vast the wilderness truly is.
When the discussion moves to the oceans of our planet. We have barely scratched the surface of what truly hides in the depths. As Luke said in this video, we know more about the surface of the Moon than we do about the sea floor. Heck, we know more about the surfaces of Mercury, Venus, and Mars than we do the deep sea. The fact that scientists can say with such confidence that such creatures as Megalodon simply can’t survive in today’s oceans is laughable.
They saw Godzilla
In the navy you still have to put a quarter in to look through those optics lol
I would rather go into space then dive in the ocean.
Until scientist put out pre-programmed submarines that can go to the deep ocean I mean so far out land is not even an option anymore with all sorts of monitors and probes we’re not gonna really know perhaps those huge sharks don’t want anything to do with man, they might be more intelligent than usespecially at the current state of world events
I'm pretty sure jason Statham found a meg. Not once but twice 😂
In my experiences as an Australian surfer, my life has been more in jeopardy from dolphins than sharks.
