It’s so important for pit bulls (and any big and powerful dogs) to be raised with love and training.
My daughter was in her own back yard with another kind neighbor, cleaning Hurricane Helene’s mess. A man came sauntering in and when she asked what she could do for him, he said his dog had run into her house! (Through the back porch door and where my ten year old grand daughter was). Ash immediately placed where she remembered the man and his dog! She instantly grabbed her little 14 lb Maltipoo into her arms. The pit bull had gone room to room, looking for little Teddy, who he had bitten a year prior. He locked eyes with Teddy and began lunging and trying to get behind my daughter to get to Teddy. He bit her breast, and multiple times he gouged her hand. She was turning and turning, pushing the pit bull away and kicking with the leg she wasn’t standing on. Her had was covered with blood and that when she realized no one was coming to help her. She began screaming for help at the top of her lungs. The neighbor who had been helping was coming back from her own home with a chain saw. She had left her 14 year old son in the yard. The neighbor began running to help my daughter. She yelled in an authoritative voice, which distracted the dog long enough for her to scream for her daughter to get inside as she began running to the porch door, as well. The dog’s owner had a friend pick up the dog before police and animal control got there. He was not sorry at all, and in fact lied multiple times, even insinuating that little Teddy had caused her wounds.
It’s been an awful experience. She and our grandaughter couldn’t sleep the first week. The scene kept replaying in their heads.
The dog was deemed a safe dog and is alive and well with his owner.
My daughter is having to go to civil court to cover the medical bills and single mom who teaches school can’t afford. I hope justice is served.
We love pit bulls. But because they are so powerful, they do take an owner who can raise them correctly.
I love dogs but honestly I would feel intimidated by this pittie… While I agree that the problem in most cases is the owner, you just don't know what kind of trauma this dog experienced growing up, and what triggers him and if this pittie ever gets aggressive he could very easily kill another animal, or maul badly any kid or adult getting in its way. Sorry but I wouldn't take any chances with a dog specifically bread to fight…hence the many cases in which these dogs, ending up in the wrong hands (or just inexperienced owners), are put down. I love the Dodo feel good factor in these videos but these dogs should not be represented just as cute cuddly balls of joy because in unexperienced hands they can end up doing a lot of harm.

The greatest disservice this channel does to its viewers is attempting to normalize pit bulls. It's such a disgrace and a danger. Pit bulls are bred to be vicious attack dogs, so of course that's what they genetically end up being. A very well-researched study was done on what dog either injure or kill people; pit bulls are overwhelmingly at the top of that list. It's not even close. The study can be found on the Forbes website. From 2005-2017, PIT BULLS KILLED 284 people!! The next closest breed is Rottweiler at 45 fatalities. Shame on The Dodo for what it does to mislead the world about the most vicious dog…the pit bull.
Pit bulls are the best dogs ever. Breed restrictions are abhorrent. I had a red nose pit for 13 yrs and I miss him so much. He was my best friend. Love you Porter!! Miss you buddy!!
