Disagree on the background part. I love that she's from the hood and has this troubled background. The gang stuff is very welcome as well. As a writer, I write from a hood aspect, so it's great to see this mixed in with a fantasy setting.
Nahh…it is bad, sorry….I wouldn't recomend buying the game…the trailers sold it as an Infamous or prototype, if you want to play it with these expectations you'll be disapointed…

The cringe is throughout the whole game. As is terrible progression with fire taking too long to unlock making early game repetitive, and the final power too late in the game to be useful.
Story pacing isn’t any better. It’s not a good game. Is it Gollum level bad? No. But like Saints Row before it both are cringe with crappy gameplay (at least particle effects look nice in this one), and both killed their studios. 👍

it's interesting, i've seen both love and hate for the game and the hate feels unrealistic.
-many things that were brought to my attention could be rectified mainly gameplay through settings (outside of the cutscenes)
-I've played final fantasy and this company making FFXV made me see and realize the similarities and stuff that's kinda laughable.
-The story is actually deep but people only see the surface obviously so it allows me to read and see how screwed up this place actually is.
-Frey Holland reminds me of a bitter lulu (FFX) even funnier she has a similar haircut and gradually grows as the game reveals everything.
-This game is for grinders and not for those who cannot sit down and learn the learning curve and it reminds me of a few final fantasies and some RPG's
-The skill trees make you grind towards probably some dope abilities and i feel everyone put this game halfway through because no one mentions the LITERAL GREEN THUNDER SPELLS.
-The more you learn about the game, the better you become. im gonna make a 200 hour video on it soon.

Well the open world is a mess and the dialogue and main actor is not good. But the core of the game is good, the traversal is better than spiderman which is impressive. The world is interesting but the problems with the open world and story and main charecter really are hard to ignore. I understand people hating the game, its sad becuase its got so much potential. Once you get past all that, theres alot to like, the combat and traversal is some of the best ive ever experienced. The problem with the story and main charecter? They disney mcu'd it and its just awful. Noone wants that anymore, the public is begging them to stop with that type of stuff but this is the outcome of all that.
No one’s surprised that majority white cyst men are leaving poor reviews on a game with a black female protagonist. I’ve put in over 50 hours of game play and am still finding new parts of the game. The graphics are amazing, the storyline is rich! Okay some dialogue is redundant. Should that discredit the rest of the amazingly stunning work of art. The disrespect this game received is a poor excuse to promote underlying racism and sexism.
I got this and Wo Long at the same time. I couldn’t finish Wo Long. The story was meh, and you couldn’t even control the speed of text scrolling when trying to read up on the lore and characters. Every map was just grinding to get to level 25 fortitude and try to fight a tough boss, relying on a party system but there were lots of flashes and distractions that take away from combat and your ability to time the parry…coming from somebody who played and beat Sekiro. I got decently far into the game and just said to myself “this really isn’t fun”.
I quit that game and started Forspoken. Honestly, I don’t get the hate it’s gotten. It’s far more fun and entertaining to control various magic abilities and the magic parkour is very fun. The story is much easier to follow and understand…but I’m not too far into the game yet.
Overall, Forspoken has been much more fun than Wo Long, and I’ve been more excited to get back to it and see what’s coming next.
10 reasons why Forspoken is bad:
1.) The cringey trailer of the main character starts talking about herself…
2.) The $70 price tag.
3.) The main character isn't likable? Nowhere close being likable like Lea from Crosscode.
4.) The game's story feels meh.
5.) The combat against AI in a hit and run video clip where it just doesn't want to chase you.
6.) The worst map system.
7.) One cutscene where a wild black screen appears when arresting the annoying main character.
8.) Why the physical game copies end up at a landfill wasteland? Trash game easily forgettable and forgotten once beaten which sounds like 0 replay value…
9.) Fast loads consider there's not much objects start to appear in game. I missed Dungeon Siege 1's one loading zone, and the rest is the game with all monsters and objects all appear in one load zone.
10.) Squeenix didn't learn from their past mistakes… SquareNFT is the future for their new nickname…
Overall, it's a mixed rating review than good or bad game… RIP to the game studio who made this game…

Gameplay wise i think its starting to prove itself over Wo long for me, the story is problematic i agree but as anything you like about ff but not ff this game does deliver, the red/fire magic is amazing
Def not the best game of all time but I think a lot of people could enjoy it if they gave it a chance. Some cutscenes, lines, and story progression can be lackluster and at its worse a slog to play through, but what it does correctly is amazing. The combat is super satisfying, parkour has a great flow though it takes a while to get used to and can feel janky at first. I feel one of the only logical complaints people have about this game is the price. Not worth $70 for a lot of people and I can agree with that. Always good practice to wait for sales anyways. Wish it didn't feature denuvo so people could torrent it and see for themselves, especially since nobody is gonna pay $500 for empress to crack it. I would recommend if you see it on sale for $40-50 or less but only if you have 10gb vram or more since with 8gb vram or less it has some texture streaming issues bc the engine is a real vram hog. Pay no mind if you play on PS5

Defending a game with the words, “It’s not the worst game.” Not high praise.
I like the game but it has the worst map system , way overboard on the map markers . Also a small compass on screen would have been nice. I find myself putting a marker at far north for on screen orientation . The map literally has at least 1000 markers per small section of the world.
But it is cool with the amount of options the game gives you in the menu to play around with.

So are we trying to get codes for Final Fantasy XVi because I see these reviews that give it a good review when the game is mediocre at best. The story cold have been something but in the end it was slow, boring, and very predictable. You knew plot points very early on with very obvious clues. The combat was very lackluster. You literally had no melee abilities until you beat Sila and again that was a big thing because I feel they could have mixed the primary combat abilities instead of having a dedicated combat type to an element. The support magic was fine though. Now the luminous engine was the same used in Final Fantasy XV and it was beautiful. The colors were vibrant across the world and yet this game was borderline late PS3/base PS4 texture. The only time it can hold 60 fps was in the dungeons. The world was very empty as well and I don’t mean enemies which is typical in open world games. No the only place yo can interact with people is Cipal despite there being forts and refuges being scattered throughout the land. Then there is the matter of Frey. She is the typical down on their luck with a chip on her shoulder character which is all fine and dandy when she has redeeming qualities but she doesn’t. She is self centered and despite given these powers and being treated as a hero as the story goes on because she is able to withstand the break, all that matters to her is going back to New York and the life that she was living before and then doubles down when Auden’s father dies and throws her own poor upbringing in her face despite the fact that Athia has been on the brink of destruction. This game is a 4.5 out of 10
