Tbh, I only played up to Revelations so I don't know too much on the later games combat other than what I've seen here and it's great up to Unity (not really a fan of the added swing 'aura' in Unity but I'm sure I'll get used to it when I play it).
Black Flag seemed kinda wonky at times but still acceptable compared to 3 and Rogue (I love these). Syndicate looks like the player has super speed and strength x 10 and the animation is super wonky. As for the RPG games, not really a fan of them though I must say the animations are cool.

almost all players loved the AC3 fight mechanics, proving that Ubisoft was heading with the right direction then fucked it all up with the RPG style of fighting. THAT is not AC. THAT is a cheap attempt at copying the success of the The Witcher 3 and failing miserably at it
The rpg trilogy is a disgrace to the series.
In every ac 3 combat video, the player parries the brute guy with the axe but gets bashed in the head, why not disarm them or break their defence?

AC 3 my favorite game of all time
I know this video is meant to showcase each game’s combat experiences, but while watching the parts from Liberation and Freedom Cry I had a thought. As much as Unity gets slept on for its gameplay mechanics and graphics, Liberation and Freedom Cry are slept on for their narratives. I would die happy if we ever got more AC titles that centered on Aveline and/or Adéwalé’s respective storylines.
i typically player who skip story + barbarian style (avoiding stealth). For me syndicate/valhalla is the most beautiful
