Same developer from dead space but this time he miss out the horror and Callisto Protocol wasn't even scary as DS but better luck next time I gave it 6.5/10
This game was awesome 👌 loved it I like Dead Space Remake also.
Felt a intense amount of all 3 of those emotions whilst playing this game
I've been having alot of fun with this game 🤓
I dont understand why so many people have issues with group combat. Its a consistent complaint I've seen, but its something that never came up as much of a problem in my medium mode playthrough.
The idea is to avoid grouo combat and to realize there are spikes in every group combat location. If not then there are explosives, or given ammo.
I dont think they wanted to make you feel like you can try group combat, instead its something to avoid alltogether. When you have an extra enemy to deal with, heaby attack or throw him away if you cant find spikes.
I know it sounds wishywashy, but its really all you need.
what i notice about callistro protol first hand seeing it, was the cringe dodge mechanic, felt like a dodging simulator.
the callisto protocol is for the new generation of kids, teens, hispters who have a low attention span who love garbage games like fortnite and modern fps shooters games, you give them a classic original like silent hill or silent hill 2, they will get bored and not appericate it for what it is, same goes to resident evil how it's changing, i personally prefer the classic tank style resident evil games, but most do not like it unless you have played it growing up, most like the modern resident evil fps shooters.
1:19 you didn't add the biggest factor, sound and music, in a horror game is very important, when you ask old gamers who played silent hill the original ps1 and silent hill 2, they will always say the sound and music.
This game is more survival more than dead space was dead space had way more action
I love this game, but I respect your opinion and this is a good video! Nice job bro!
The atmosphere in this game was some of the best I've seen in gaming, but the gameplay couldn't save this one especially in the 2nd half with all the 2 head fights
The game did suck… just wait another couple weeks for Dead Space remake
This game is amazing no clue how you can like dead space hate Callisto protocol. Most ppl that complained about the combat just sucked at it.
Add to the title: The space helmet with the lit face makes the main character look retarded. 😆
I enjoyed the game, came in thinking Glove & Bat so I got lucky there…
I seriously felt like the most dangerous thing on the moon.
Awaiting on the full release, all the season pass stuff before I go back to Callisto.
I feel like people keep crapping on it because it’s trendy.
After the patch, I had zero issues in performance.
Good enough story, great graphics, I had a fucking blast playing it.
I feel like most people taking a dump on this game don’t know how to play it well and take advantage of all its features.
Yes, it borrows somethings from Dead Space, but that was to be expected given it is from the same creators, but it’s still a very different game in its core.
Dead Space 1 & 2 are the superior games but this is a great add to the Science/Horror sub-genre.
After the update the game is damn good! I've been a fan since the 1st teaser and not got disappointed. A worthy Dead Space 4. Great story, good horror, unexpected moments of shocks/frights, suspense, moments of horror… great graphics and audio as well as an oppressive atmosphere!! The close-up-fights are good and really fun. Sometimes you have to be really fast. Like a mortal kombat with multiple opponents. Sometimes tactic changes are needed when restarting from a checkpoint – suddenly the level behaves completely differently afer x-times repeat, because opponents come from somewhere else or there are other items to collect. Insanely good. The checkpoints are well set, sometimes I would rather have fewer.
Compared to Dead Space, there are fewer puzzles, but this increases the fun of the game – you can just play through the game and the story without having to constantly run back and forth. This is good for collecting items and still good for weapon and body/suit upgrades though.
Its great and exciting and on a level like Dead Space 1, 2, Alien Isolation, Last-Of-Us, Evil Within.
Glen schofield said they took influence for their combat system from God of War 2018. If they're going to take influence they have to be equal to or better than what they took influence from. The problwn was, I had just finished God of war Ragnarok and then played this. I really regret buying it digitally on PSN since I can't return or trade in the physical copy.
Callisto Protocol was excellent. The negativity on this game is coming from bias reviewers, journalists, and corporations all being in bed with each other. People are benefiting off the negative reviews. They want the game to fail in order to destroy Glen Schofield and Striking Distance studios because Callisto isn't another generic Resident Evil or Dead space, when Schofield clearly stated that he didn't want to make a clone. Callisto Protocol has shown that these "reviewers" are not true gamers. These reviewers cry and complain because they suck at playing video games. These are the same normies(reviewers, journalists, "gamers") who support these corrupt companies(EA etc.) that kill off great franchises. They are ready to support those same companies and their bastardized versions of the games they ruined. Callisto Protocol is a REAL game, made for REAL gamers made by competent developers. These reviewers are hypocrites and their opinions/feelings are all subjective not objective.🍷🗿
p.s. Dead Space and Resident Evil are linear, action, third person shooters, with cheap jump scares. Just incase people have amnesia. Think for yourselves. 🍷🗿
Playing on the easiest difficulty has definitely helped alleviate a lot of the complaints that a lot of reviewers have had. Is this a perfect game? Hell no, no way…I’d even say it’s an flawed but serviceable game. Horror is my favorite genre so I was able to get past most of the issues because I was still enjoying the atmosphere and setting. Wish the game had a waypoint button that allowed a temporary objective marker or holographic line to guide you to the main objective because when you come across two doors many times throughout your playthrough, the game never does a good job at communicating which way is the way to progress and which way is optional… this led me to being unable to return to an area I wanted to explore thinking that the way I had gone was indeed the explotable and optional way.
Excellent, Engaging,Spectacular…,There I fixed your headline for you,..
I'm having a blast with this game! I think you just didn't figure out how this combat system works. Don't mash buttons. You need to dodge until the enemy stops swinging, then counterattack. This combat system actually offers more diversity then most other horror games. There's also a soft lockon. The enemy closest to you, that you focus on with the camera, is the one that will attack (mostly). Don't frantically try to attack enemies coming from odd angles. Rather use the sprint botton to reposition or jump over obstacles when possible etc.
Puzzles are often just tagged on busy work and not a requirement for survival horror. Most of the time they make little sense anyway. Linearity is not inherently a problem either and there are both secret areas and backtracking with changes in the environment in certain points. Many survival horror games are quite linear, it's just a little less obvious.
The story is fine, too. Perfectly serviceable, though not groundbreaking. Certainly not worse than any Resident Evil game.
The Callisto Protocol is just different. Not perfect, but a lot of reviewers don't seem to get the hang of it, because they think this is supposed to be played like Dead Space, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, when it is not.
its the atmosphere
They based the game on combat when their combat system is straight terrible lol. It works more or less if you're fighting one enemy, but taking on 2 and more is just frustrating.
Game was going great till he got his head shaved 😂. It’s made me more excited for the dead space remake. Also it’s made me think how good the next gears game will look.
“completely falls apart with multiple enemies” = “i suck at the combat and am a bit too casual for this game”
The combat is nice, adds to the stress level which is what these games are about. It feels like you're actually getting jumped but I understand if you've never actually been jumped feeling like this is broken.
