Quite late to this video, but theres now an app for the deck called xbplay that makes remote playing your xbox, and cloud streaming pretty seemless 🙂
I might buy one but bc I can’t really save enough to build a budget gaming pc, yay poor life😢😢
And 6 months after this video after saying that it was years away from a steam deck provision. We have the steam deck old at my guy😂
I absolutely love my steam deck… I use it for emulation… gaming… even streaming games to it from my pc while I relax out in my living room with my family or want to lay in bed. This whole past week I haven't felt good and I have just been laying in bed all relaxed playing my steam deck… I absolutely love it. It does everything so well… I wish more game developers would optimize their games for it because I feel it's incredibly important for the future and present of gaming.
Steam Deck is the best for clearing out your backlog (or at least putting a good dent in it)
Steam Deck and Switch (and other Eastern handheld PCs) are portable gaming done right in todays world where Smartphone games are a husk of what they could have been
Can you use your Microsoft account for the steam deck for the games or is it just for the PlayStation ecosystem
I don’t feel the G cloud is even close to the Steam Deck. Needing a good source of wifi to play the G cloud really steered me away from it. Also I haven’t been overly impressed with cloud gaming in its current stage.
2:50 what game is that?
Somebody actually uses that logitech cloud device…I… WHAT?!
Yeeaaaaaaah maybe the Steam Deck wasn't for you. Or maybe you're dreaming for the day MS announces a handheld.
I feel like for the first time I’ve found the perfect combination of stationary and handheld with the Steamdeck and PS5. Loving the combo and highly recommend.
I will tell you like this because I’m not a competitive gamer and own a PS & Xbox and love open world games survival and sandbox. If you’re like me “DO NOT GET THE STEAM DECK” the game choices are limited and most videos to help find games are all the basic triple A games. No hidden Gems and it’s not worth the money. Just save up and get a PC and put it at the bottom of your to buy list. Unless you like mainstream triple A games then go for it but every game able to be supported on steam deck I have on my consoles.
Just letting everyone know steam deck (at least mine has had serious booting problems). Been playin cyberpunk and once the battery gets low it will start to lag. Power the deck off and back on sometimes it will not boot. Had this happen on 3 separate occasions. Currently it’s just a dead brick with a steam logo😢
whats the game at 2:57?
fallout 4 cant do 60fps on the ps5 but it can on the deck 😂😂
The Steam Deck stands undefeated.
been playing fallout 3 on deck with a few mods that don't ues fose, MMM/enclave commander 070 plus cheat terminal, overall very fun
From what I've seen on the internet, it seems like Steam Deck is a scam. Battery allows to play games like Elden Ring only for 1 hour?! Are they even serious?! If you can only play Switch level games with this battery for longer time, then it's better to buy Switch, it's like 2-4 times cheaper! Now it's not a surprise why Steam Deck sales are so low.
This thing is trash. Out of 6 steam deck verified games, 2 worked for me. GTA IV and V both do not work at all. Just crashes. Unless you are a highly experienced pc gamer who knows coding, this thing is pretty much useless. Returned mine.
I hate PCs its WINDOZ mostly so a PC gamer portable that isn't anchor to WINDOZ is a win for me!!!
I have so many questions if someone could answer..
Great review Matty
2:02 Oooooo this comment literally got me soo excited!!!
in regards to a Xcloud native Linux app would be feasible for Microsoft especially if they just use electron for the application. but it we're talking native games to Linux that's not happening, most Gamepass games are UWP apps which are a sing immutable file wrapped in a kernel level DRM specifically designed for the Windows NT kernel. this makes it impossible for Proton to run the games and it would be more work than Microsoft would find worth it as the whole reason they support PC gaming is because they own the main PC gaming platform Windows and want people to use Windows not Linux which allows them to double dip in revenue.
It is kind of weird thinking about gamepass support.. The long term problem with Microsoft making a native gamepass/cloud option for steam deck is that whatever solution they were to make would become a Linux version. Although they would gain subscribers they would bolster the steamdeck as a platform. Without control of that platform there is nothing stopping valve adding commissions etc.
with all the time most of us already spend on computers, in chairs, it really cant be understated just how much refreshing and more enjoyable it becomes when your gaming also isn't confined to that space. one reason I never cared to get into PC gaming or emulating.
A “mix match of priorities” from Xbox?? What a surprise!
Bit late to this video but I’m looking at buying an Asus Rog Ally.
Nearly picked up a Steam Deck in the last sale but this Ally device is native GamePass and more powerful.
The display is better too, which is obviously one of the most important factors on a handheld.
Love that persona music matty.
I only want to plat mega man legends so this might be it
Man I have been on the fence about getting a Steam Deck for months. I have a switch, PS5 and I was saving for a Series X but with Starfield (the main reason I want a Series X) not coming out for a long while… do I pull the trigger?
I just ordered the deck and the dock yesterday can't wait to mess with it
Ryzen Z1 & Z1 Extreme APUs For Handhels
Its a great handheld, i just wish they would've stuck with 16:9 ratio. If a game has blackbars i just dont play it, i know some people dont care though. I do like the taller aspect of 16:10, but unfortunately alot of lazy devs dont add support.
I've racked up nearly 400 games because of xbox digital game sales! It's a curse, I've not even booted up half the games 😥
The Steam Deck won't overheat Matty. It will downclock itself automatically to prevent that. Play what you want man!
I would love for a handheld system in 10 years to have 12 hours of battery that could run AAA titles with a 120 hz 4k display same size as steam deck. 120 fps capped on any game with ultra settings
This is the most negative description I have head against game pass on steam deck. Has everyone else been talking BS?
I have just ordered the steam deck. Looking forward to playing TOTK for free!
I just want a 1080p Steam Deck with no bezzles
I never had a problem with the weight, the weight distribution is very good. I also got used to the layout pretty quickly.
If your on the fence about it do it.. this is a revolutionary system.
For older gamers who can't just sit hunched over a desktop PC for 10 hours straight, Steam Deck is a blessing. Just recently finished Persona 4 and Tangle Tower. Games like this really work fantastically on the Deck.
Native Game Pass support on The Steam Deck would be so crazy.
I absolutely love the steam deck super cool! One thing Microsoft needs to do is let you download games from Game Pass. I plan on going to Japan next year and would love to have access to some games I don't own while I'm on the plane (assuming they'll let you play offline for some period of time)
I genuinely love my deck it’s such a good piece of kit. Had mine for 3 months now and I been having a blast playing through some of my favourite series (mass effect, the Witcher, Hogwarts, Star Wars Jedi fallen order). Find myself playing games a lot more as it’s soo convenient to just chill on the sofa or in bed. Everything runs surprisingly well and if you’re not a frame rate snob (Ie everything’s has to be 60fps or higher) you can set most games to look stunning graphically and they’ll run at 30fps up (which is perfectly fine).
Just started dipping my toes into emulation on the deck and playing some Pokémon games as they’re nice and casual and it’s been relatively easy to get to work.
Three gripes I have with the steam deck.
Battery, playing the Witcher 3 or Hogwarts legacy I’m smashing through the battery in a hour flat.
A few games like cod or fifa won’t support it due to it being on Linux (I know you can install windows but seems a hassle)
Offline gaming/gaming without a solid internet connection can be somewhat annoying as games can be temperamental starting up without a connection or mid playing they can crash because of an update that’ll stop you in your tracks.
i love hearing the p4 music in the background, peak
I love ur videos matty and I appreciate that u always do a great job through thick and thin
