We have five cats–four are affectionate. Our tortoiseshell is not. It makes me sad because she will go days and days without letting me cuddle or even touch. She ignores the rest of our family. 😢

I had many cats in the last 35 years. Now one of mine is 14, his old "siblings" passed and he was alone. One day a cat came into my yard, she became my cat and she was pregnant at the time. She had 3 kittens the first time and by the time we thought it's good to spay her, she made another 2. She loved to be outdoors, to hunt and climb, because it's where she lived before coming to us. She was smart and avoided the streets… for 4 years. Last month she disappeared… 😢 Probably hit by a car, we never found her. My old tomcat is very cuddly and comes to our laps, sits on shoulders, desperate for attention.The 5 kittens born are all with us. They are 4 and 3 years old. House cats, they know us since they were born. But they are not lap cats, they purr, like to be touched, but not held. They were crazy about their mom. Since she passed, I noticed they look for us more. Sone even come sit on out chests. I guess they were getting the attention they needed form their mom. I love my cats, I was broken when my mamna cat didn't returned, but the kids seem to get closer to us lately.

My cat, who is a Rescue and maybe he didn’t grow up with human or even other cat affection, stays near me, but rarely will sit on my lap. He will curl up next to my head and sleep at some point in the night, but he might start off in his tower. It’s just as sweet though just have to accept your cat for how they love you and who they are.

I am an introvert, I am not comfortable when my friends hug me, or when my grandparents or relatives kiss me on the forehead,I have a pure white male cat, and he has been with me since the age of 1.2 months, he is very introverted yet curious cat, a copy of me, he dose NOT like physical affectionate attitudes, he also purrs rarely but that dose NOT mean he is unwell, it's just his nature,
AND I LOVE IT!!

This was made before JG was big into Torties. It ain't gonna happen. When it comes to Torties, you can throw out the rule book. My Isis purrs and hisses at the same time. She purrs when she is attacking me and chatters while licking on my arms and hands. Other than that, she's a purr button spoiled beyond belief and is featured in several of my videos. Great mouser, does her job well. She adopted me at Stephy's Bar and Grill 4-14-23.

My cat has severe anxiety and stuff I wish I could you help me with so much I love my cat but this video might be helpful but she has so many cat traumas too please I wonder how much would your services costs for that and how you can help me get better with her !

My cat used to love to cuddle and was offically my therapy cat ( certified by the mental health center I go to ) but ever since I gave her a new cat bed, she's no longer interested. I miss it. She'd cuddle, purr, come when called, trill, sleep with me, and initiate cuddling. I kind of feel lonely now. She only wants to sleep on her cat bed. She's even had a vet check-up. She's fine, she's just lost interest. I also can't afford another cat, not that I'd ever think of replacing her with a more affectionate cat.

Our latest dump-rescue is a big bear-seal void baby who feels sleek and expensive. He was INSANELY huggy for about three days but stopped I think when he realized he was safe. He's not shy at all exactly, but not very interactive. We can pet, scoop, crate, hug, and even kiss him within reason–he mostly calmly accepts it, occasionally with appreciative faces. He will make an almost polite grumpy noise when he's had enough and we put him down. But the few moments once a week or so, when he does instigate affection himself, say, love on an ankle or lean into a pet, or even go "Look what I can do!" with a dance routine on his back without touching, oh, they are so precious. He does many loveblinks when we talk or sing to him, and he enjoys it by relaxing when we snuggle him–he just isn't "made" to do it back really. And that's okay. It might change and it might not and that's okay too. He tells us he loves us every single day, in his own ways. The real secret, that makes me love your title, is the EXPECTATIONS. Don't have them. Just enjoy and be honored by what they give you and they'll make you so very happy.

Felix and I will be gazing at each other in a series of mutual slow blinks, me on the sofa and him lying full stretch on the rug in front of me, while I explain to him yet again that I go out, I buy the food, I throw the treats in the hunting game and operate the cat wand, and I’d really appreciate a lap cuddle once in awhile if he has the time and inclination, even though it’s hot, but nope. Nada. No doing. I’m a food courier, can opener, playmate and a companion, but I’m not a cushion and it debases us both to suggest I am, apparently. 😔

What if my cat was a lap cat, went to a foster, came back and hasn’t been the same since. She was the lap, pur, human cat who came when I called, slept on my chest and grabbed my had to continue petting her of i stopped. Now shes skittish and scared of me. Just want to make her comfortable enough to be the snuggle cat she once was. How can one do that

My cat 2.5 years old now, never allowed me to lift him up and hold him since when he was 3 months old !!! He comes to me some times and sits next to me to touch him, but as soon as I pick him up, he becomes uncomfortable and becomes angry. What shall I do ? Any ideas ?

Our female cat of 4 years sleeps and is attached to me but will not allow my son to pick her up or hold her. Any suggestions? Thank you for your fantastic videos.

I really needed this video today. My old 17y.o girl passed away in end of july. She was so special and the most affectionate cat i ever had.

In Sept. I adopted a baby girl at the shelter. Tbh, she is great. I needed a lot of work to gain her trust. She was a very very scared cat. But in term of petting. Meh. Not much. She jump on my lap to parade. But dont want to be touch. She just want to parade. It hard to have a cat that dont like to be pet. But you are right, she is special in her own way. Thx

my cat his own person with his own personal space he doesnt like laps or beinglifted or held he only lets you pet his head when he sits next to you and rests onto you. i like that he his own person like you dont go up to a random human and demand they ok with being lifted up 😭 i like my cat bc he dont take shit from nobody!! i feel better knowing he defends himself and doesnt let anybody just take off with him god forbid im not there with him

What if my cat used to sit in my lap and nap and cuddle with me all the time but for the last year she has completely stopped i dont know why

We adopt 2 sisters, 4mth old feral rescue cats. They are adjusting well to the home….zoomies several times a day. They only will go to my husband even though they were for me..I can approach one when she is on a perch and I can get a few pets in , there is purring . The other kitten is wide eyed and runs and hides everytime I move around but does not do this with my husband. How do I not just become the the scooper at the end of the parade?

I needed that. My cat is not a cuddle cat. I was worried that I am a terrible cat parent. My cat is very kind and sensitive thoug, but I won't force her to be a cuddle cat.

I got my cat Khora when she was 6wks old. She's 2.5 yrs old now and not affectionate at all. If you pick her up she'll jump out of your arms. I know she loves us because she'll follow us through the house and will sit at my bathroom door and watch me get ready to leave. When I leave she gets in the window and watches me leave. 99% of the time she is there when I get home. lol I'd love to know if she sits there the whole time I'm gone. lol I wish she was a cuddler but the closet she gets is occasionally laying at the foot of my bed when I'm asleep.

Our new kittenToothless, we just got him yesterday and all he wants to do is sleep. He barely plays. We got him from an adoption shelter. Yesterday he was ok with being picked up and cuddled but today hes like yeah nope.
