It’s just playing, that’s not aggressive behaviour. If it was aggressive behaviour you wouldn’t be walked near cat
Without Mr Jackson the world would have been inhabitable😊
This play almost exclusively happens when I get out of the shower and my legs are bare 😭 it’s very rarely if I’m wearing pants why???
My cat doesn’t do this to play. He does it when he is mad. Every time I don’t do something he wants he waits till my back is turned and then sinks his teeth into my thigh…breaks the skin and I have bruises all over my legs. Example …he wants food but he already ate I say no and he bites me. He wants to go for a walk..I say no…he bites me . Whenever I say no and walk away he bites me. 😖.
You are not telling how to stop it
Im trying these things with my 14 weeks old kitten, and no amount of play is tiring him out. He'll be non stop for hours. Hes got a huge cat tree, 2 scratching posts, i rotate toys, he has interactive toys. I try to re direct the ankle scratching and biting, and with in 2 seconds of the distraction with a toy, hes back on my feet and ankles 😑 Hes been getting 5 minute time outs when "No" doesnt work. 😂 Sometimes they work, others not.
So should you try to have a toy on you at all times to redirect bites or nibbles? It's kind of hard to do when you dont have any pockets 😅
My kitten jumps on our feet and legs and he cut my elderly mama this morning and she is a diabetic.
That is my cat!
Had a rough and tumble cat named Zipper back when I was still in school. Without fail, he would wait every day for my siblings and I to get home off the bus, and then "attack" us. It was the ONLY time he would do this, and he always waited until we got fully down from the steep hill our stop was on
I guess we realized that it was a game early on because we weren't too bothered by it. Instead we would collect the mail, tug on our backpacks, shuffle down that hill, and then make a mad dash for the front door. As long as we were in the space between the hill and the door (safe zone), we were his 'prey'. We never knew who he would go after each day. And while we would feel his claws and teeth, gain some shallow scratches here and there, none of us were ever really hurt.
I miss him
HELP! My kitten (7 months old) attacks my Lab and now my dog is afraid of him. Oliver scratches (I trim his nails) and bites our dog whenever he wants to play so playtime is not successful. 😢Will the three R’s work for that?
AHHHHH Tucker is a male and he is ORANGE! And I bet Tucker does the same while your idle on the couch.
I’m a cat breeder, this shows me that cat wants your attention to play with him.😺
My male cat bites bad, really bad. I'm covered in bloody wounds on my hands and feet and I don't know what to do. I am not aggressive with him and I behave as well as I can, I comfort him, I buy him all the goodies, he has toys and food at his discretion, plus attention from our family, and I am constantly at home with him, that is, he is not alone to felt the need for attention.
I am a new cat parent and shes been extremely playful these days. She is attacking my feet. I don't know why me lol. Shes everywhere i go. She sleeps where i sit and she purrs when i pet her. Im receiving mix signals. I'm not sure if she likes me or hates me 😅 i just had her less than a month. Im about to get a pair for her on January so she has someone to share her excess energy with. But for now, ill play her game. I hope when i get her a playmate, they both wont team up over my feet 😭
I call my grand cat a foot fetish freak, she always attacks me but not my daughter. I literally have to bury my feet under the blankets so she doesn't get to them. love my baby but OUCH
My issue is that she attacks when I’m asleep
Another question, we have nine cats; they adore playing with lights and wands, but, as you can imagine, with nine cats the wand play is a madhouse….they love it, and they are fun but a bit overwhelming. (I feed feral cats. I have spading the girls, but before spading they were wit kittens and these were all kittens from three of the mothers four of them were sick and three had a mother killed by dog….what kind of toy can work with all these cats for alone play? Nothing we have tried has worked because there are so many of them.
Jackson, My cat, Tuffy has always bitten me. He draws blood, so it isn't gentle. The weird thing is that I am his person. He gets in lap and makes biscuits, rubs his head all over me spreading his scent. and loving o n me, but the bite is a thing he tries daily. what gives?
When I got my cat she immediately started doing this and I laughed so hard because I always assumed it was play. It hurt sometimes but she learned to stop when I said ow snd still stops when I say ow 😍 I love my silly wild kitty! She also loves to play with my feet under the blankets haha 🤣
Ok, so what do you do when you're just watching TV or walking around and suddenly feel razor sharp teeth penetrating your skin suddenly? He doesn't want to play w/ toys unless HE wants to play. I've literally tried everything and my legs are so cut up and scars and scabs from constant sneak attacks. There is no redirecting him, he's laser focused on making you bleed. I'm on blood thinners so the bleeding and bruising is bad. Everyone said he would calm down after he hits a year old. He's a year old and a half old and I've been suffering through this for a year now.
I'm scared of my own cat! I need help because what this video suggested has been done and it doesn't work.
I know this is an old thread but I’m in need of an answer. I’ve got an incredibly sweet tux who’s about 4 months old. Gentle, loves fetch, pets etc… never bites or hurts inappropriately.
Until – I’m serving dinner. He attacks my ankles and legs while I’m preparing him and his brothers meals!!! It used to be a drive by jump scare, body grab in my leg. It’s turned mostly into lower leg and ankle bites.
As you can imagine, I’m very anxious while prepping food!
(It does take me a minute to prepare bc I clean their stainless steel bowls, I add their supplements and probiotics to the meal) I have to keep them on these things bc their both FeLV positive and have really finally just gotten past their hard beginnings. The rest of their liter is gone. I adopted these two fellas and both have lost eyesight in one eye and I almost lost the tabby to upper respiratory that turned into full pneumonia and we did a Hail Mary steroid shot and he’s been thriving since.
So I keep them on l-Lysine, and a probiotic as well as the most moisture rich, grain free quality wet cat food I can afford.
Any ideas?
I’m sorry, but that was funny 😂
when I first got my kitten, she attacks me every night, making me hard to sleep. But then after 3 days, she kinda understand that it is the time for me to sleep, and she sleeps along with me. I don't know what I did right, but she seems to adjusting to my schedule? Anyway she's cute and I love her forever
Definitely my cat, 6 months old.
