Steamdeck being made by valve for valve & the Steam community are so much more valuable than a couple of specs here and there.
does it have touch screen. can i draw picture with some sort of pen like a tablet?
I like this because it has windows. android is annoying.
A psp size one just as powerfull would be nice. maybe one year
Why steamOS. SHould have duel boot atleast with windows.
Can you play rdr2, Witcher 3, and Skyrim offline? That is all I care about lol
When do you think the Steam Deck 2 or ROG Ally 2 will release? I'm unsure if I should wait for them. I want a handheld device. So what should I do>>>>
1- Wait for the new releases.
2- Get myself an Ally X since it's new and really good, so it should last me years.
3- Get myself a Steam Deck OLED, so when the new ones come out, I won’t feel too bad about not spending $800 on the Ally X.
Ally X all the way!
Those suckers on steam deck are going to have the simpler retro games like Elden Ring…wait what?
I was able to secure a Rog Ally X for $700 and get a Samsung 990 Pro NVMe for $140. The battery and the ability to play games from other stores including anticheat games is worth the price difference for me.
Great comparison for the two systems. Really helps for someone, like me, looking at my first handheld since a game boy 😀
🚪🚶🏻…. Windows + no trackpad
One thing you forgot to mention in the video: Games which require Anti Cheat Software running in Tandem with the game would most likely run out of the box just on the Ally.
But to be honest, I would prefer a mix of both: Ally X CPU and GPU with OLED and that dual Trackpads for Mouse input. 🥳 that would be the ultimate solution.
Quite surprised to see so many people in the comments favoring the steam deck. Interestly in other videos online where reviews opt in favor of the ally x you see the opposite, which leads me to think these devices are just like buying headphones. Equally great options with different quirks for different consumers. I was wanting a steam oled for so long but at the very last second I went with the ally x and have 0 regrets. Its a comfortable and powerful machine and I can play Gta V comfortably with quality settings and great frames. I can also play a game called space engineers which is very RAM heavy and that's no problem with the ally x's spare VRAM. It feels so weird being able to play these games on such a small device, especially GTAV which could barely handle 30fps on the Xbox 360 back in the day prior to all of the modern day updates. I will say though that paying just £200 shy of a grand for a computer that can barely run No Man's Sky in 720p lowest settings does hurt my soul a little bit but hey ho I'm still thoroughly enjoying using this device.
Went back to the Steam Deck OLED. Windows is just horrible for a handheld console. Adding Heroic means I keep everything but Ubisoft from my collection. And I just can't be bothered to get Ubisoft Connect working.
Steam OS is the winner here. You don't need top of the line hardware if your software is vastly superior.
base oled model is 250 dollars less lmao
All the rog ally's have VRR thats the game changer here!!
These companies should take notes from Valve about making an os that simple to use, while dont own one from what i heard its closer to a console than the other handheld pc's. Look forward seeing what valve has coming up next along with nitendo switch
The oled screen isnt a big deal to me.. i think the VRR more than makes up for the LCD screen
What is crazy to me that no one is talking about for the Steam Deck vs the Legion Go
Is how bad the Steam Deck looks (graphics wise) to the legion go
The steam deck 720p look bad compared to the legion go 4k resolution
720p on an 1080p screen looks like ass , so you have to bump the resolution to 1080p on the ally-x , but then you get the same performance as the steam deck.
I bought both this week. For me the ROG is significantly better. Theres no situation where I'm using Linux so I found the X to be easier to navigate. I HATE the button layout on the Steamdeck. I thought the TouchPads would sell me and it did the total opposite. The only thing I feel is better is the screen which makes sense. With the X, the button layout is perfect and feels more quality especially the triggers. And it's literally my PC just in a handheld so the transition is seamless. Also I can play whatever I want, just like on my PC where on the steam deck I'm limited. I'm sending the deck back to valve tomorrow and I don't have to think twice about it.
What I'll will add though is the the steam deck case is perfect. I have the official asus case and it trash so I'll be getting a 3rd party one on Amazon.
Also when i figured out how to use the Armouy Crate, it was no contest. Im relatively new to PC gaming in general so this is just the opinions of a newbie. But yeah, armoury crate made this an easy win for me
Asus must add trackpads thes trackpads not just using for windows also game saver for unsported controller games
i chose the steam deck because its more plug n play.
Just set up Ally X to open Steam Big picture after booting up, ”problem”solved.
Windows 11 is kinda bad
Are you cold enough to cover your hair?
What Is the game on 9:15?
I own the oled and thought about "upgrading" to the rog but im not really sure 😅
Ally all day! Deck is too weak for me…
I don’t see a reason to upgrade if you already have a Steam Deck. I am looking forward to Steam Deck Gen2…😅
Me using the rog ally x (Original fix version) as a main computer 4k monitor enc. Because my pc was broken. or is broken. Force to use this as my main computer. And well its just like my pc. Only downside is the ram. I can not push to many program top open at ones. However i can play yes play all games. Even if it is sometimes force to 1k. But its runs fine even at 15w using. Also any launchers even retro will work without issue`s. And bonus you can run bluestack without any hassle. So you can use it like your phone great thing. Sorry steam but even if it`s the windows thats spyware and sucks. Its just better.
I got the 1TB OLED Steam Deck, and as someone who doesn't want to bother with replacing the SSD, I made the right choice.
You guys don’t seem to understand that adults like us are mostly going to be using these and we work constantly and don’t have a lot of time, especially being a father of one it’s gets hard with work and I don’t wanna tinker with settings, the steam deck is perfect and awesome, I can turn it off and turn it back on and resume right away, I don’t have to deal with windows and windows is terrible I returned the rog 3 times and finally made the decision to get a steam deck and best decision of my life 👍
Well, if the Steam Deck OLED is good for less demanding games, with interesting colors and art, and heavy games will look better on an ASUS ROG Ally, then I think a Switch OLED would be a better choice. It has the same less demanding games, plus Nintendo exclusives, on an OLED screen with triple the battery life of a Steam Deck and is much more portable. It's definitely a better option. I say this confidently because I have an ASUS ROG Ally and a Switch OLED, haha.
This is the video I was looking for… Ty
Both.
If youve never touched either one, get the steam deck. BUT dont ever touch the ally. If you do, youll throw the deck away 😅. It is a major noticeable difference in power…
9:10 Might have sold the ROG ALLY X for me
10:45
11:34
PS5 Pro or ROG ALLY X for same price ?
Id lean to the Ally so I can get Xbox Games Pass and Steam OS
deck oled
the ally x seems awesome, but i'm happy with my SD oled 512. maybe i'll reevaluate it once ally gets steam os.
I own the Steam Deck OLED and i have tried out the Ally X from a friend and to be honest for people that would play mainly online competitive like games or games that would have anti cheat software in them the Ally X would be the go-to system but for someone like myself that mainly plays single player games the Steam Deck OLED is the perfect handheld since i am able to play games like Kingdom Hearts 3 on low and medium settings getting almost 60fps and the new Gundam Breakers 4 game on high settings and get around 70fps (i personally locked it on 45fps for more battery life) and some other retro type of games like the Final Fantasy Pixel collection.
After all these Years Valve is still not selling Steam Deck World Wide wake up Valve.
Its not the same storage because of the different form factors
