My new scottishsh cat kitten – 3 months old I bought last day is really agressive, no any interesting in contact with me or my wife, only hissing, hiding, attacking our hands. If my hand is close to him he simply attack me. Giving him food or water nothing change he dont come to eat and dring this is really strange….. i had 5 cats in my life but never had this problem. What do I do if it's been a year
What about older cats? I have a cat that is 10 years old and is dealing with the transition of a new home and a new owner. Right now she is hiding behind my washer but has access to food, litter box & cat bed in the laundry room. I keep the door to the laundry room generally closed so she has some sense of security and privacy. Should I use this technique with her or is this better for younger kittens?

I have an about 10 month old right now that is very scared of humans in general. I had a fabric playpen i wanted to keep her in and break her in so to speak, but my cat and her like each other so much they basically wrecked it to get to each other, so now she's loose, and she's still afraid of humans, she loves my cat, they lay down and play together, sleep together, she walks the apartment just fine, but i can't really get close.
I guess i'm going to have to use a metal bench or something keep her in and feed her and get her used to me and gain her confidence i'm good people ?
I'm stuck as unfortunately I have 2 couches that tye kittens are hiding under. There is no way to block tyem off and i live in a small apartment so there's no other room to isolate them in, as my bedroom has a under bed hiding place. 1 kitten has progressed massively already, but the runt is terrified of me. Never experienced this at all in my 40 plus years with kittens. They're 10 weeks old but the breeder obviously didn't socialise them at all. I don't want to keep trying to grab him. So far i haven't grabbed him.

4 days ago we adopted a 3-month old kitten that's extremely shy and hisses at us every time we try to come close, no matter if we're "elevated" or on her level. We allready have a cat that is 1,5 years old and she too hisses at the little one even through closed doors.

A year ago I adopted a young mom cat (Fiona, barely 1 yr. old) and her kitten (Patty, 9 weeks old). To my surprise, the mom was pretty skittish (liked being petted, hated being picked up), and the kitten was friendly and fearless. Fast forward to today: Fiona is now a cuddle machine, enjoys being held, tolerates nail trims, and likes to be near me most of the time. Both cats come out and seek attention when friends or family come over.
