This new robot mower looks to replace your traditional grass cutter – it mulches too

Lymow, a yard technology company, just launched the Lymow One robot mower at CES 2025. The new mower features wire-free installation and can handle large and complex lawns. It has a two-blade cutting system instead of the traditional small blades typically used in robot mowers and advanced navigation technology to help it expertly avoid obstacles.

“Most robotic mowers today are built for small yards, but many US homes have large, complex lawns. As a result, these mowers often serve as a supplement rather than a true replacement for traditional mowers,” said Wangshu Gao, founder and CEO of Lymow. “With Lymow One, we’re taking a different approach. Our product is designed to fully replace traditional mowers, delivering superior automated lawn care — better results, less time, lower costs, and minimal effort.”

The mower’s two larger mulching blades spin at high speeds and offer a cutting width of 16 inches. They are paired with a centrifugal fan integrated into the deck to discharge the clippings and avoid clumping. Lymow says the blades are strong enough to cut grass and mulch debris like leaves, fruit, pinecones, and small branches in wet or dry conditions. 

The brushless motor on the Lymow One has a peak output of 1,200W to spin the mulching blades at 6,000RPM. The Lymow One can cover up to 0.23 acres per hour, up to 0.57 acres per charge, and 1.73 acres per day. It’s powerful enough to tackle slopes at 45 degrees and up to two inches in height, even in wet and slippery conditions, the company claimed.

For navigation, Lymow touts a combination of real-time kinematic (RTK) and visual simultaneous localization and mapping (VSLAM) to create maps, navigate your lawn, and avoid obstacles. This makes for a boundary-wire-free installation, which is the easiest way to set up your robot mower. 

Many competitors often require boundary wires to be buried along the perimeter of your property to ensure the robot mower stays within the desired area. This is time-consuming and requires much physical effort and, often, professional installation.

Following a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $3.5 million, the Lymow One is available now for pre-order at $2,999, with orders delivered in April 2025.
