There have been several games like this recently that get absolutely trashed online that actually were really good but for whatever reason, got on the bad side of the wrong internet crowd.
The most memorable one, fir me, recently was Dragons Dogma 2. People absolutely review bombed that game because there were petty severe frame drop rate issues in som areas and it had micro transactions (none of which really matter though). Whioe admit there was performance issue, if you met the requirements it runs fine, it just wont run at 60+ fps at 4k resolution the whole time.
When did games stop being about having fun? Now when you buy a game everyone is concerned with crap that has nothing to do with how fun the game is to play.
Agreed, forspoken was just an unfortunate victim of mob mentality. Gaming community has a long way to go sadly.
I really enjoyed this game! It just keeps getting better as you progress through the story.
I like the relationship. I'm playing it now and she's a bitch and he's a dick. But it's cool to see them progress. They actually grow as people. It's refreshing.

I just finished this game, I didn’t care much for the story until the very end, but I felt like it made sense, and overall gameplay was really good in my opinion, wonky at times but always felt fresh and new

The combat kinda reminds me of Warframe. Not 1 for 1 of course but very similar. But the dialogue and lack of emotion when they're talking killed it for me

Lmao the "purple, red, and green" zones look kinda ridiculous, like someone has colour-shifted the grass zone by adjusting the RGB grading curves for each global light but with like no subtlety at all
I'm 30h in and loving it. I agree, the start is not the best and I confess I almost gave up. Good i didn't! Love the combat, being able to switch spells on the go, mixing them and everything is so flashy and powerful. I play warlock in D2 and Frey just fits power fantasy for me! Thanks for the review, TV!
Producing an RPG in this day n’ age where I cannot choose my race & gender is immediately going to be a hard pass for me – let alone a game where I’m going to hate my characters dialogue regardless.
very fair and unbiased review, im glad you didnt take the easy way into reviewing this game and jumped on the seemingly logical bandwagon. i for one, think that the loud-mouthed and sassy attitude in female characters (or feminine characters as a whole) is rather refreshing
