The alligator is not a problem! as your average florida person, thats just my boy greg.
Problem 1 with my cat!
• I sit down near them, but they are too connected to cat tv. So then I skritch his chin ( he loves those) and he comes toward me! I say i luv u, ( in cat languages) and he goes back to the cat tv!!! AAAUUGH I NEED TO GRIUND HIM FROM THE TV!
Cats are truly curious by nature. If you show consistently that you arent a threat whatsoever they will venture towards you and what you are doing
I adopted sisters in August (It’s now December) and it has taken one of them this long to finally open up. It makes her affection that much sweeter. 🥺
We found a trio of feral cats several years ago. I've posted some of those videos of a couple of them so far. And I could use some views as im working on a sponsor. Happy holidays!
Like if you have a cat
Do these tips work if trust has been broken in some way shape or form? If we start off like they're a brand new cat?
Hey Jackson, I just subscribed to your channel. I am so glad I found your channel. I have learned so much about cats. Thank you so much for sharing this information to teach us about cats.
When I was a youngster (I'm 78 now) I went with my mom to a summer camp owned by two of her friends. We brought my cat Lucky. One of the owners didn't like cats. She said that if Lucky could catch a mouse she'd "be OK." Next morning I woke up and there was a dead mouse on the foot of my bed, with Lucky sitting there, purring away. Like I say – I'm an old guy but never forgot that.
Jesus loves you and he’s the son of God! He wants a personal relationship with you! So just pray to him and I promise you he will show himself to you. All you have to do is pray. If you don’t know how just say this. Lord I’m sorry please forgive me please show yourself to me amen. It can be as simple as that! Jesus loves you, you should love him too!
What if during the handshake thry either paw at my hand or give a gentle bite?
it's so refreshing to see someone committed to understanding cats and their nature. I have two cats and Jackson has helped me navigate the murky waters around cat behavior. Through his wisdom I began to grasp the complex relationship between cats and humans. I have developed a deep respect for respect. Respect for territorial integrity.
I luv cats always feed them outside as well as my own or dogs any animal really Thanx xx ❤❤
I know it’s been a year, so you probably won’t see this, but thank you so much for all that you do! I’m a pet sitter, and all the years of watching you has helped me be a better cat guardian, but also better as a temporary guardian when I sit. Animals generally just like me, so it’s pretty easy, but having the knowledge you share has helped so much to make every sitting situation better. From introducing my two new sibling cats to my older cat after her brother passed away suddenly, to knowing how to introduce myself to new cats I’m sitting, your advice has helped so much. Thank you. You are just the best and I’m so glad you do what you do with so much passion and love.
Mr Galaxy, I have a question. Me and my bf made a neighbors cat a best friend. The family moved in during summer and we had open doors and windows alot of the time, and when working in the garden I'd pet him as he came by, and then at one point he went inside and carefully but cautiously ran along the outskirts of the room, and then quickly out again. I didn't think to stop him really as I thought it was a natural thing for him to do as an outdoor cat, seemingly young and explorative. I've never felt it necessary or natural to shoo a cat away. But he came over more and more often, snuggling and drinking from our water placed for hedgehogs and other cats, birds, whoever may need it, and he got really comfy. Of course we felt rather "chosen". He would welcome me home from work coming on my bike, mjauing and stroking my legs and head butting me and wanting to come along inside the house. However, at one point late summer the owner saw him coming out of our place, visibly upset and rang our bell to say she thought welcoming another ones cat over was "sick". I said we'd do it for anyone (never closing them in, always keeping an escape route open), as w another neighbors cat who enjoyed laying in our hammock, and a cat at our last home who was elderly and we even got along well enough so that we got to feed the cat when they were away, on their back porch though so as to not confuse where home is in any way (the law in Sweden also states that if you do make an animal dependent on food, you basically are responsible for it). Of course I said that we'll respect their wishes and not welcome it by anymore. But, sure it hurts hearing him mjau outside at times, and bolt in when someone rings the doorbell. We pet him ever so quickly and put him outside again when that happens of course. But how is one to navigate this? We assume he will eventually stop seeing our home as a source of anything and do his own thing out there.
good to understand that my intuition is right a lot of times, since I got my cats last weekend… dispite all the talks and book recommendations.. <3
thanks for the video
CATS ARE TOO NONCHALANT I JUST WANNA PET THEM BUT THEY DONT LIKE ME (its my friends cat) 😢
I started long term fostering a cat recently as the owner was an animal hoarder and had been ordered by the local council to re-home her animals, quite quickly. So as i'm at home a lot, and would benefit from the companionship, I said I would take her.
She's quite young at 3 years old (the oldest cats the owner had) and I wasn't really prepared for how challenging it might be to care for her (as everyone says that cats are so easy and just lie in your lap all day and cuddle). She's never been really cuddly since i've had her but has already come a long way in the two months i've had her. When I first got her, she wasn't really aggressive but she would swipe at me a lot and often with quite a lot of force (even if i wasn't touching her but just touching something near her or trying to unattach her from something when she got her claws stuck on something). She would also do other stuff which i've managed to sort out and she doesn't really do the forceful swiping anymore. It's more gentle now, like a tap on the hand usually.
But she had started sleeping on the end of my bed when i first got her (which she's now stopped doing) and other than standing in my lap for short periods (she never sits in my lap and it took her a whole month to even stand on my lap), and accepting slightly more strokes than before. I think she trusted me and would sometimes show affection towards me but wasn't really frequent. I really wasn't expecting the slow eye blink to work but have been doing it today and she hasn't returned them yet but I do feel like she's been coming up to me a lot more to stand in my lap or for strokes, so i'm going to keep doing it as I was feeling quite sad at her being so aloof
What is the difference between stopper and peace?
The michelangelo technique backfired on me one time. When the cat booped my finger we both got a static shock 😢
I love cats, so it's hard to resist the urge to approach them. But the cats I've considered consistent friends have always been ones who approached me first while I was just minding my business. Cats love 'parallel play', just existing in the same room as them is a social activity.
thank you
I adopted/saved from animal shelter, 2 senior cats. One likes me, 😢 other does not. I'm building up. She's got a 6 ft tower she spends time on. Otherwise, she sleeps inside a chest of drawers. It will be 8 months tomorrow.
Please come to my house ASAP. Just picked up a 3 month kitten and need your help. Kitten is on my channel and really wanna keep her
My cat has her tail past a 90 degree angle all the time. What does this mean?? I hope very much that you answer this question.
👍
I managed to get my kitten to love and trust me very quickly by always getting down to her level, asking for consent by holding out my hand, listening to her cues and making my movements very relaxed and calm
How does one deal with a half feral cat that used to be a love cat sleeping on my neck to one that glares at me, follows me with dilated eyes, and does not let me touch him,. He hisses, swipes and bites. This was a gradual change, over 6 mos involving castration and becoming a 3 cat household instead of Only Cat when it was he and I alone? Is he jealous of the others? One is his blood brother. He has become an over stimulated nervous cat and I give him all space and privacy but we now exist separately in the household and he watches me interact with the other two who are not as tricky. They are all young castrated males
thanks for the help
I'm 18 and I just moved out my mama's house, And people I live with said I can't get a dog which is fine because it only I can commit to a dog. But I've always been a dog person. So I went to the shelter about a week ago and I picked up my first cat. Never owned one before. This is my one. So far she's like me but I'm still confused as to how to make her have the perfect little house. So I appreciate your channel and videos like this being able to help guide me around owning my own little furry fuzzball
I rescued a cat 2 months ago he came up to me and has been attached to my hip ever since
I love cats ❤
why would a cat choose to be kind only one sex? I was given a four week old male kitten as a gift, he was a orange tabby right out of the gate he only liked female humans and wanted to kill all males that came into the house, At the time I looked at this behaviour as he was my protecter . now I would like to understand what he was really up to? side note when he was a old enough I also had him neutered. I named him Stewie after the family guy due to how he would stock all guys and try to kill them.. any insight would be appreciated. Thank you
This was just what I needed! I have a new kitten who is still scared, and I’ve been bobbling the greeting a bit. His brother and I are fine, but little bro … well, I know what to do now.
We recently adopted a cat and the previous owners did not feed her a variety of food. Same flavour over and over again. She is 7 months old. We are introducing a more varied diet, but unfortunately she does not seem to like any treats.. we have tried offering various ones but she does not try them. Any tips? Thank you!
Um, what's my second choice?
I rescued a cat that was outside my office 2 years ago now while I was out for a walk. I brought her home & she ended up gravitating towards my husband (he was not a cat guy) & it made me feel sad cause I had really been wanting a cat & she found her way to me. I had started playing with her more often using one of those teaser toys that has an insect on the end of the line (she loves to hunt bugs) & ever since then, she comes to me for more play time & has become more affectionate with me. I’m so happy that we started bonding more. We even got her a playmate (we brought home a kitten) & they are super bonded now as well. He is also a very affectionate cat. I have watched every episode of My Cat From Hell & I feel like through other people’s experiences on the show, I’ve gotten to know & understand my cats so much more. I love seeing them feel so comfortable, confident, happy & loved. I can’t imagine my life without my kitties. They are like my children.
Hi! I was hoping you could help me with a dilemma: i'm fostering a stray black cat who lived in dire conditions until now. He's got a bad case of otitis in one ear, but he's so scared and traumatized that he hides and flees from me, and it's been 4 days. I'm all about giving cats their space, but shouldn't i also try harder to alleviate his pain with proper medication as soon as possible? 😢
I've discovered that one of my recently rescued cats is particularly fond of watching Birb TV on YouTube. So I put some bird feeder cam channel on my laptop, put it in my lap, and wait for her to come and check it out. She'll sit near, move over my lap, and sometimes sit in my lap and even knead a bit. She's not terribly food driven, but the bird feeder cam videos are luring her to my vicinity and making her more likely to approach instead of vice versa. Then I can turn it off and watch something else, and if she keeps hanging around, I feel like that was a win.
