I’m only 10 years old lol but when I grow up I want to make an animal sanctuary with all different types of animals from lions to wolves to small farm animals and tiny creatures I’ve always had a thing for lions and thought about starting a cult on TikTok for lions but I failed xd anyways I’m doing lots of research and when I go to college I hope to go to a university but before I start my own sanctuary I wanna volunteer so when I get old enough should I volunteer and how *ANY PLS ANSWER MY QUESTION BECAUSE I NEED ANSWERS *

I'm sorry to tell you that Jon Watson but Volunteer Southern Africa and many others like Glen Afric do not under any circumstances reintroduce anyone of their animals that have been reared or sold to them from unidentified individuals ever release their cats into the wild. What these five unethical organisations actually practice is ‘cub petting’ and ‘adult cat petting’ which goes completely against the ethics and rules of conservationism. Petting, breeding and “big cat projects” rarely do tell their visiting students, volunteers and tourists the dangers in relation to petting cubs and adult cats. Within South Africa the current protocol (although its not necessarily the law), is that all new born cubs must be vaccinated from the ages of six weeks old. New born Cheetah, Lion, Tiger or Leopard cubs are not vaccinated automatically after birth. This in turn places visiting students and volunteers in danger of catching ‘a zoonotic disease’. As said Kevin Richardson the lion whisperer : "to stop this cruel industry act responsibly : don't go to any facility where you can pet lion cubs, don't go walking with lions, don't volunteer in lion farms."

Has anyone ever been seriously injured or killed on these projects before? Jon, if a big cat all of a sudden decided to randomly attack me and maul me, is anyone on site to actually put the animal down, or am I basically dead if that happens, and people can't dissuade the animal by yelling or their hands.

Dear Jon, you have been volunteering with them for a while now and I still don't get how you can be ok with walking with lions, when you know how many bad places there are in SA. I'm not saying that this facility is supporting can hunting but by doing that, walking with lions or elies, you contribute to send the wrong message to the world. And the whole Volunteers issue will keep on going, because there are people like you who advertise for this kind of "pay and play" places … you should choose to be an ambassador for wildlife and maybe have a disclaimer at the beginning of your video, explaining the whole can Hunting situation in SA…
