Just finished it for the first time tonight, thankfully Dunkey took his time coming to punch me in the balls. And I agree, absolute mastapeece!
My little brother finally played through, and 100%'d Ocarina of Time with the Switch Online N64 thing…um…he rated it a 6/10…do I have to disown him chat…?
dampe digging ditches in the rain, he died of hypothermia LMAO 😂
I can't believe this review is 30 years old
The soundtrack alone is a masterpiece
One of the best game reviews ever made imo
I never rewatch videos. But this video, I've watched it at least 20 times to this point. I love Dunkey's reviews, I love how he never says the most easiest and obvious thing to say for a review. His dunkviews only has lines that he genuinely felt by thinking deeply about the game. He never talks about every minute details about a game, but he always includes the most important ideas he had when writing a review. That's why these videos are so special, so relatable, and feels so genuine, and why I love these videos so much.
why its not on ps5 bro
0:43 jokes on you, i got a gem and some skuluktas in there.
Dunkey: I have no nostalgia for this game
But also Dunkey: I played this when I was ten
Zelda Ocarina of Time is the best and creepiest too
Idk why but at least once a year I always watch this vid
This video review is so good it tricked me into playing this terrible game, lmao.
When does Dunkey think people from nostalgic feelings? 10 years old is still within that range.
Sold playing it now
605 Windler Trail
i never played this song yet heard most of the songs front he game somehow
How do I play this
Did bro say… deekew tree
The Greatest Game of all Time. Full stop.
I accept there is a nostalgia aspect. And that most people let’s say 20 or so and under would probably just write this off as an old retro game. But having played this when it came out as a 10 year old it is my all time GOAT. I’ve owned all versions and I keep coming back and beating it again every year or to for the last 25 years. I wish they’d do a switch version. And a switch version of WindWaker.
Pov life 2:09–2:19
E for extremely horrific imagery and gore
How is it that decades later so few games live up to this standard. Like this was one of the very first 3D games. It should've been terrible, like the first silent movies, and now we should be getting stuff like The Godfather. Instead, many iterations later we get Skyward Sword. Like, the blueprint is right here. So why is it that even studios with huge muscle such as Insomniac and Guerrilla never come close? No one will revisit Spider Man in twenty years, both Horizons felt old a week after they had released. To me it's so obvious what it was that Nintendo did here and with Mario 64. Those design principles would translate into most singe player genres, and still we get, at most, about 1-2 games a year at the most that seem to utilize them.
But I guess it's the same as with movies; Spielberg learned what makes a nice shot from Bergman, most directors didn't.
Blackest dunkey
The ending also has a cool tie-in to Twilight Princess. The window in the Temple of Time that the great fairy is in, who is rather intimate in how she speaks and physically interacts with Link…is the same window Navi flew through at the end of Ocarina of Time.
All those years ago as a little kid when I walked out of the forest and thought I was in an area like the Lost Woods. But then, Hyrule Field opens up. That feeling of being exposed and overwhelmed. Especially after you get locked out of Castletown at night…
Losers: "It's popular because of nostalgia!"
Reality > generation after generation of gamers consistently vote Ocarina of Time as the best game ever made and as the perfect game. All the way to now.
Maybe it's not nostalgia?
Just so you know, no real ocarina of time fans play the 3ds version.
Just finished 100%ing this game without any deaths a couple months ago. I have no idea how I even beat this game without a guide when I was 7, but man anyone who says this game has aged horribly is just plain wrong.
song at 2:46 ?
Climb into my mouth you fucking dumbass
I've been trying to write this comment for like 20 minutes cos I'm in an extreme amount of pain from Dunkey punching me in the balls. Sorry Dunk, I'll play Ocarina of Time
I'm still waiting Dunkey, why haven't you hit me in the balls?
Bruh I gotta know the version of the Zelda theme he used at the end 😭
Played it a few years ago on original hardware. As a developer, it is astouding what they were able to accomplish. It is easily the top game for the N64, much like BotW and TotK for Switch.
There's a dark twist when you get a moment of Fridge Logic. You see, Navi left, right? Okay, but when Link arrives in the past after Zelda sends him back in the end… The Door of Time is open.
Because of this review they can never make me hate dunkey
OH YEAH!
3ds version…
This was a perfect review. Gave me goosebumps.
