This game is about 6.8 all things considered.
Less filler? There’s tons of meaningless chat phases that make the game feel like it’s dragging on. The game itself is good and the animated scenes are amazing but it’s slowed down too much with middle chat. Safe the middle chat for the extras to get full completion and not partial completion.
Well, I hope it's not just some radical leftist bullshit … Will give it a go.
Ugh can we have a jrpg that has a solid plot without being over the top weeby and cheesy
I completed the game today on PS5. Overall 8/10 here are my gripes: I didn't fall in love with the day system I felt limited in my ability to grind compared to old school jrpgs, I essentially got locked into the final boss with no way to improve my team. Felt there was too much fluff with the dialogue, some of it needs to be cut out including some interactions, it made the game too long and tiresome at some points. I think people that don't get very far into the game that are reviewing it haven't come across some of these.
Pros: The voice acting it second to none, terrific. Lots of attention to detail like he mentioned. The multiple endings I learned about post game is really cool – like actual different meaningful endings. The story was good but nothing that blew my mind and many of the "big reveals" were actually quite predictable (this is someone coming from a heavy jrpg background for decades).
They have a good foundation but I hope to see some improvements if we get a #2.
I played the demo and really liked it but the story well I felt it could’ve been better like taking itself a but more seriously. Does the story get better, twists and turns etc?
Its world looks good, but I wished it had a little less if the Persona aeshetics in the combat systems, which is exactly the reason I never played any of those games. Maybe if it gets a huge discount I give it a try.
I'm sure this reviewer would of came, and given this game a 10/10 if the game had non-binary characters, and LGBT/trans flags put into the game.
Here after they named in IGN game of the year. I don't get it.
Really inconsistent that IGN’s initial review gave it a 9/10 but then votes it their IGN Game of the Year. If it won their GOTY, the review should’ve been a 10. It tells me that their initial review is just off or they just straight up did not get a full consensus when giving the score.
The amount of unskippable ads on IGNs videos is infuriating
I don’t know if it is the writing itself, the translation, or a combination of both, but it was too pre-teen whimsical for me to relate to. To its intended core audience, I may see how it could be a GOTY contender, but the storytelling is not for everyone.
Quer
this a piece of shit not a game.
Better than person 5
Looks amazing, but I hate having to deal with calendar systems.
Why does every protagonist in an Atlus game look the same?
I probably spent more time fishing RNG for gauntlet mushrooms on this game than playing COD MW3
You lost me at "diversity is humanity's greatest strength".
This review is soulless, creepy, and clearly written by AI. Gross.
I agree with the overall opinion tho.
I can’t stand how popular anime and anime-type media is getting. It’s so cringy and hard to watch/get into. It’s too over the top on every way and it is just animated crap that looks the same as every other show/movie/game in the genre. So weird.
You lost me at progressive politics
The mp issue has made me delete this game
80 hours for a game is too much for people like me with limited time and easily bored
6 nominations with 3 of those being wins, including "RPG of the Year"…. and yet this is the first time I'm even learning of its existence. Their marketing needs to do better.
This game beat ff7 rebirth AND shadow of the erdtree for best action rpg THIS GAME!!! Has everyone lost their freaking minds!!!?????
Who’s here after the Game Awards? 😅
soy game shouldev never won game of the year never played it looks doo doo yall have fun sucking eachother off in comic con
Ainda acho que Metaphor deveria ter levado o Goty
If i cant make a non binary trans-gender dwarf, it deserves a 3/10
410 not enough pronouns. Veilguard better
“The games inherently progressive politics”
Into the trash it goes
Definitely one of the best RPGS I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning and playing
I almost bought this game before I found out there are some "time limits" in it. I hate being time limited in games, especially jrpgs, so I gave up with it.
I'm so glad I picked this up instead of Dragon Age The Veilguard
It looks like something that was released 20 years ago, and it seems like you spend most of the time sitting around watching the game rather than playing it. Who wants to sit around watching dialogue in a game? That's what movies are for.
Is this only a turned based game?
played the demo the story is very interesting but that combat is so boring play games for the action gameplay
I can’t play 100+ hours playing a game where an annoying fairy speaks for the main character. Just give the protagonist a name and let them be a fully fleshed out character. Silent and semi silent protagonists just don’t work.
Can always count on IGN to say too much and literally say nothing at the same time. I came to watch a review, not "IGN reporters 5k word essay for 90% of his class grade".
Say it in less bro. Nobody's got time for you to channel Tolkien if he had brain damage.
I think it could be argued that metaphor may be on par with the stories of the other ATLUS games, but I can see why a person would prefer one over the other. However, I think it’s uncontroversial to say metaphor is the most mechanically refined out of all of the SMT/Persona-esque titles, and this is both in and out of the combat system.
Idealistic, mentioned over and over. Revolutions are the ideology of the reaalists – the materialists. Idealism which you mention over and over has nothing to do with ideology, but it describes idealism, which is the opposite of materialism as a philosophical aspect of things. "Idealism is the metaphysical view that associates reality to ideas in the mind rather than to material objects. It lays emphasis on the mental or spiritual components of experience, and renounces the notion of material existence." Religions are idealistic, while science is materialism. So the ideology of social revolutions is the historical science of the dialectical materialism of the evolution of human societies. This whole review in the end has absolutely wrong results. I suggest studying on dialectical materialism.
This game looks amazing but I still haven’t finished Persona 5 Royal yet, I was wondering if I should still get this game or not?
I love video games, but my brain couldn't understand what it was looking at or what it was hearing for the full runtime of this review
This games made it to the top of my Steam wishlist and will be the next game I purchase
I'm not gonna lie, for the sole reason that the main male character is wearing a hairband, I'm not gonna play this game. This is like a male 2B with no body. Hard pass. Who tf thought it was a good idea to make a male character wear a fucking hairband? PASS.
