Just finished the game. The Idea of a cult to the xenomorphs was scary in the old comics and seeing it being used again in a new way was nice.
The gameplay is not that good. I’m glad I found this video !
this is my 2nd play through damn this game is addictive i tried to make every mission a 100%.

Just finished this game a few days ago, was that really the real ending? Really hoping for some kind of "True" Ending.
While I didn't love the cultist angle, finding it all just a bit hokey compared to the classic anti-corporation beats, I did really dig the guardian design with the chestburster suspended in them. Dark Descent was super fun and I thoroughly enjoyed the Lt. Gorman roleplay experience it provided, even if it was surprisingly difficult. Honestly I'd love to see another strategy/tactics Alien game. Maybe commanding a Weyland-Yutani commando unit, or perhaps the USCM 'Midnighters' mentioned in Into Charybidis.
Aliens Dark Descent is a must play game , its’s a love letter to Aliens
I just realized the extra easter egg from the comics. Not only having the Marlow was right being a nod to Darwin was right but the developers may have named the cult after Darwin, since they are known as the Darwin Era.
I hated this game for the first few hours but so glad I pushed through. It’s so unforgivingly difficult even on medium but eventually you start to figure things out and I will say it makes the aliens scary unlike other games where you can easily blast them to pieces. You genuinely have to figure out ways to avoid them or use a tool to distract them if you want your squad to survive
Those glowing zombies are freaky.
I enjoyed the game but it could use a second installment to iron out the wrinkles and flesh it out better.
Personally they should just adapt the Earth War comic book. Doesn't need to be canon, just have fun with the end days on Earth and playing it.

Surprised you didn't cover the names; all from Hellensitic mythology. Lethe is the river of the underworld that erases memories, Cassandra is a prophetess who's predictions are all true but she's never believed due to a curse from Apollo, and Titans are the point between the more human and understandable Olympian gods (Zeus, Hera, Apollo, etc;) and the primordials like Nyx, Erebus, Tarterus. Tantalus is a king imprisoned in Tarterus forever condemned to be surrounded by food and drink but unable to partake.
What game is better dark descent or fireteam elite, are the both 3rd person?
The company can’t be as money hungry as we have been brought to think. I’ve always wondered why they just didn’t send nexus androids on these missions? They would save a ton in money. What’s the real motivations?
"Explained." But it's literally nothing more than reading a small handful of quotes and a couple of bullet points seemingly ripped straight from a synopsis of the script. Not so much as a second opinion to be found,… I ain't asking for some kind of collegiate level analysis, but I expected a lot more after years of better content from this channel.
I had a great time with this game and getting to know the characters especially hayes and harper.I even did a second playthrough in preparation for aliens: romulus.

If this does take place after aliens….then wouldnt the marines have protocol for xenomorphs and know what they look like? I played this a d the dialogue indicates this may not take place in the year 2196.

That one misunderstood line in Aliens has led so many to think xenomorph is the species name annoys me to no ends.
Never been a fan of the telepathic Xenomorph idea. Pheromone communication seems to fit much better in the (relatively) science based Alien universe.
I took care of my soldiers and did side missions during the game for additional resources and personnel. I got to the last mission with two days to spare and I couldn't finish the game as the deadline had been reached. "Game Over man!"
i would love to play this side … the cultist side … could be a fun alternativ

This game is severely overlooked by many, I think one of the reasons people don't go near it is because one….. it is very unforgiving if you mess up in your decisions in either resources or hold out points during swarms, even Story mode has this difficulty….. I love this game because it is exactly what a squad based RTS should be…. difficult but also fun.
That game is a lesson in bad writing and 3rd rate acting. Yes, the thing to do is fly into a weird rage unnecessarily, and at odd times. Yell and scream for no reason. Great job

i always saw that form of the Titan as incomplete. it looks like it would be the same as half way between the chestburster and full grown xeno, my guess is Titan would have finished its metamorphosis into a queen mother or something similar or wholly different.
Interesting that in the marvel comics they made the lore that species that came acrossnthe alien would inevitably try to hybridize themselves with th alien inevitably leading to a tipping point where the species would lose themselves to the alien hivemind if we blend that with this it would seem this is humanities first step in that process. Love the idea of this honestly it brings the cosmic horror back to what many have tried to dumb down to big bee hive.
