The sheeps hating on this game i've always found very odd. Spider Man one of my favorite games of all time is praised as being the second coming of christ yet everyone who reviewed Spider Man never criticize how incredibly awkward a lot of the dialaouge is with new york citizens. Most of them act like robots, yet you never hear the same of levels of complaints. Even FF15 got roasted by some but didn't get crucified on the same level as Forspoken & Final Fantasy 15 has a lot of legendary cringe, even though i still like the game overall. Unfortunately there's another issue "ADULTS" lol. Adults take the fun out of everything and many people are victims of political warfare, so there was a lot of jokes about her being a beautiful chocolate lady so that means it's automatically "woke" and the haters calling it "woke" before it even came out. When it's really that Anti social Justice warriors are just as sensitive as Hyper SJW'S.
Frey can be cringe at times but that is HER character & we find out EXACTLY why she is the way she is & it's deep. Are we going to pretend that Dante from DMC doesn't have cringe moments? I love Dante but he can also be a cringe legend, even Cloud has cringe moments but we love him. Yet again you don't hear the same outrage. Unfortunately adults allow politics to intervene in everything they do & it actually brainwashes them into illogical thinking because of their biasness. Does this game have flaws? absolutely, every game does but those flaws aren't bad enough for hiveminds to act like it's the worst game or even one of the worst games of all time. I really hope they make a 2nd one and go even harder & bigger the 2nd time. This video was so well done & said. 😎
It's a combination of toxic cancel culture and mob mentality. All the sellout reviewers siding with the crowd to get clicks and views didn't help either. 2-3 years later it will be remembered as a hidden gem like days gone.
Got it on sale and wow this game is nice even after you beat the game it opens up more .it will be a hidden gem in the future sadly and all this hatin will stop new ideas in gaming from even happing we will keep getting remakes of games or sequels also this game is so customizable all the way from the dialog to button mapping to cheat play for example spam parkur and play game on hard mode very nice i think the real problem here is she's black and the price of the game was like around 70 dollars all these games a little costly right now especially for a digital download . The story is unpredictable and emotional and fighting is fast and fun after you get past the tutorial section. this game is a combination of bayonetta, final fantasy and souls like games The game is not bad at all a solid B+ in my opinion .
The same happened to Callisto Protocol. The hate that game received; I just couldn't believe it and it's a solid 8 in my book. The hate out here is real.
I pre-ordered, played a little of the demo on PC, and paid extra for the DLCs. I too initially thought some of the dialogue was a tad cringe, but I didn't let that dictate my interest in the overall game experience. I primarily purchased the game because of what looked like an amazing fantacy story, openworld experience, and technological milestone. It's the first game to utilize Direct Storage from Microsoft. I put the game on a long pause cause the initial launch really wasn't that smooth. I'm just now playing it again from the beginning and it's checking off all the boxes. I have a feeling that there will be some aspects of this game portrayed in future IPs and folks will never know where it was borrowed from. Ignore the negativity, the game is amazing!
Its by far the worst example Ive seen of artificial hate train. Its one thing to be a divisive game where some people like it and others dont and everyone goes their separate ways but this one brought out so much hatred for no reason.
My only complaint with the game is it didnt lean more into the platforming aspect with later game areas. Only a handful of chests and such required using all the powers to get to. But im also biased having grown up on 3d platformers.
I would not say that this is the best new IP as I would give that to the Horizon series however with that still being said I rate this game at least a seven or higher and I don't know why it has received so much hate everything from the battle to the traversal to the park or is just a great experience
Even when a game is 10/10 absolutely incredible you'll still see people hating it online for attention or cause they wanna be different, Elden ring had heaps of backlash and negativity despite easily being game of the year so you're absolutely right, this whole forspoken situation really made me lost respect for a lot of game reviewers for not having the back bone to come to a conclusion themselves
The last brand new IP that got love was Ghost of Thusuma and that was in 2020.
This is the only game that is actually a next gen in consoles, I can play quality mode in 120Hz mode without a single crash, with solid 120-100fps after the last patch in PS5. The story is average but the combat is brilliant, I love how they evaluate how you fight, killing is not enough, you must kill with class making star rate!. I think that's another reason people hate it, because it needs time and dedication, and people don't like that.
I like the game so far, the gameplay mostly, the dialogue to me is still the weak part – but then again, ppl think gow2018 is a masterpiece, a game where you fight 20 troll bosses, 10 valkyries, a disabled dragon and 5 million draugers while Kratos dialogue is "grunt" "grunt" "BOYYY" "grunt" "grunt" so I don't think every game is judged accordingly, some games get approved cos its trendy imo
I recently got Forspoken and I love it. I feel bad for the devs, I there was definitely an online assassination attempt. I feel bad that the studio was dissolved because reviewers wanted clicks and views.
This game is good and everyone hated on it. Sad
I am glad I hear a positive feedback on this one. I am also one of those few people who really played the game from start to finish. I 100% agree on everything you have mentioned here.
So should i make the plunge? Concept seems cool and all but all the negativity turned me off.
There's a myriad of games that got hyped and did well. Zero Horizon Dawn? Left 4 Dead? Mine Craft? Gears of War? Grand theft Auto 3 (no console player played the PC versions). Batman series. Red Dead Redemption. Then let's list the games that were hyped and found out they were mediocre to bad: Star Citizen, Duke Nuken Forever, No Man's Sky, Cyberpunk 2077, Diakatana, Anthem, Mighty number 9. Now that the game is out, I've seen enough playing bits, I don't want to touch the game. I did see a game play of FF15 because the studio made that game too and the little bit I saw made me want to play that game. Not this snarky black girl who doesn't sound like she was raised in NY but California or Oregon.
The game is barren because they didn't program stuff to happen every thousand or so feet like Fallout 3 and 4 did, and as you say, they have a reason to look barren yet they still manages to have monsters roaming around or buildings you could explore on your way to the next mission. Breath of the wild has so much going on in it. Ganon ruined the land too, yet you never get bored. I dontmhave a problem with anyone defending the game. I can't stand God of War (1st game was so repetitive) but it's grown to be a popular franchise and it would be stupid for me to say it's the worst franchise of 2022. Forespoken was handled wrongly and proclaiming its the best new IP when we're still only halfway through the year… even if no new IPs are made this year, I highly doubt there will be enough sales to warrant a sequel. Look at E.V.O. on the SNES. Great evolution game that barely anyone played by Enix. I'm not holding my breath for a sequel when many would probably play it and not like it (back then I mean not now).

Just hit the 20 hour mark of the game and you are right, it’s a lot of fun and while it does have moments of cringe it’s only a few seconds versus hours of fun combat and quality gameplay.
I saw so many youtubers shitting on this game and openly saying they did not play it. Just jumping on for clicks and views. I unsubscribed from several channels. I don't understand people who spend so much time, editing and effort on games they dislike. If you don't like a game why make videos about it? Just for clicks and that's disingenuous
I give it 7 ( so it is worth to play ). And new update fix performance (for real), so i think it wil be 8
I loved several things about the game. It was unique and the best example of a battlemage. only thing I hate even after beating the game is Frey herself as a native new Yorker I just find her insufferable and cruel for superficial reasons. And must say poor Homer 😢
