Potty Training A Puppy To Go Outside

I’m trying to teach my puppy to go outside. She’s five months old. Every time I take her out she thinks it’s playtime. She picks up sticks and leaves and pulls on the grass and bites her leash basically doing everything but what I want her to do. how do I stop her from doing this

So… the only way I can train her is by buying a crate? I don't even have one… I don't like closing them inside it

How old can I bring a puppy in for professional training?

We’ve been putting our puppy in the crate after he does not go outside, but we are seeing that this stresses him out too much and then he gets too overwhelmed being in the crate and out of the crate. Any suggestions on relieving that because this makes him not want to go to the bathroom more because he becomes too stressed, all he does then is curl up in our arms when we carry him inside and he falls directly asleep

When she was a baby, she would go outside, but then she got nearly ran over by a truck and it pushed her out of the way it basically skinned her and now she does not go outside. I had to force her outside and she will not use the bathroom and I walked her on walks. She walk outside. She just does not use the bathroom outside.

Thanks so much for tips about less distracting areas and circling. It has been a big help so far. He’s 12 weeks old and we have only had him for three days so we still have the occasional accident inside but this has made taking him out so much easier.

And what about if they go in the crate?I gave them the cue "hey" she did fast and then came to rolll over….

So frustrating i was legit outside for 2 and a half hours and absolutely nothing all i got was him sitting down or not trying to walk around

what do i do if i don't have a crate?? (my puppys new and dosnt't have a crate, but i REALLY do not want to keep cleaning up after him.)

Just did this. I live in an apartment so I used a puppy pad on my balcony and it worked. I will keep trying this and update yall

What if you don’t use a crate ?

So my 6month old won't go pooping outside. Allyvor prefers to use the training pads only- I guess that training went super well…huh

So, now when I take him out he just loves the time in the sun, then comes in a kisses or poops on his traing pad.
I am tired now of buying training pad. The cost adds up

What if she’s always whimpering whenever I take her outside?

Thing I’m having issues with rn is my 4 month year puppy kinda just does what I do. I sit down to watch him go he sits, I walk with him and just follows and walks, and if I stand to let him go he just looks at me. I’m totally new to this and so is he just looking for some help and advice

I did this with my puppy. Now she just won’t go outside by herself, she starts crying.

dont need to watch this video, no magic to housetraining the dog. actually is easy, just need to take the pup out often and with short intervals at first. Over and iver, taking the dog out does the trick. As rhe pup grows, the intervals become longer amd befroe you know it, the dog is trained.
