4 year old husky lab vs a 4 month black mouth cur- husky growls if the puppy licks the Husky or tries to nibble the husky. Husky has hunted possum and squirrel that get into yard and thrashes them around so we know how strong husky is. Puppy 20 pounds. Had husky on leash but guess I need a muzzle. Both fixed females from when adopted from foster.
I have had 7 large dogs over the years. I have been stern with them all in much the same way as this guy. All 7 dogs turned out to be well behaved loving animals.
Reactive dog? This dog was fine after 2 corrections. I corrected my dog 100s of times but no luck so far. Well only had him for 3 weeks but I hope I get to help him, me and other dogs by correcting his behaviour.

I had an aggressive dog. He loved the family and grandchildren, but if a bird or dog or human came close, he was on it. You have to introduce the people you love to your pets.

I don't know about "unneutered energy." All my female pits act the same way, and I've had male dogs neutered early that did this as well. Great eye for the different cues though.
Despite popular belief, neutering dogs or any mammal is not great for their health, especially when they get older. Testosterone is very important especially as dogs age. Just like TRT is becoming popular in older humans males it’s been proven to help older male dogs too. Cancer is a concern but we don’t remove women’s breasts because there’s a possibility for cancer. Think about it folks. If you can’t train your dog sure, neuter them. It’s not exactly healthy though.
My dog is neutered a year ago, now he is 2,5 years old. He was great with other dogs until a month ago and now he started being reactive only to some dogs that approach him in the park. He would not come up to random dogs and started growling, only if the dog approached him (happened 3 times only with small white dogs). Do you have any solution on how to teach him to just ignore dogs that he does not want to play with? I also noticed that onky happenes when I am very near. He is usually off the leash in the park we go to and it is familiar space to him.
