Samsung’s big “one more thing” moment at yesterday’s Unpacked launch event was the Galaxy S25 Edge, previously known as the Galaxy S25 Slim, a smartphone that wasn’t announced on stage, only teased – and then showcased to the eager techie crowds.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is officially coming “around April”, according to a new report quoting an unnamed Samsung representative speaking at the event.
That’s reasonably in line with past rumors saying it would land in May at the latest. The phone’s obvious main selling point will be its thinness, which has been rumored to be 6.4mm but hasn’t been officially confirmed yet – company reps are simply saying it’s “roughly” 6mm thin.
The Edge is expected to be similar to the S25+ in terms of height and width, and will be the lightest of the whole family – unsurprisingly given its thinness. The lightness will also come from it using a much smaller battery than the S25+. The Galaxy S25 Edge has just two rear cameras, and that probably helps with the slimness too.
