What an incredibly moving review by Jessica during times like this. I'm glad there are stories and fictional worlds like Metaphor's and Persona's to help us escape reality and am looking forward to more Atlus JRPGs this year.
❤
Played some great games recently and this is the best of them. Stunning.
Excellent SMT3 Nocturne Remastered/5&Persona3 Reload/ 5 Royal.
I love this game, but it make me headache, migraines. It’s about graphic in menu, conversation.. music it’s not problem, I can sigthly mute. I can’t play, and it’s sad. This is first game like this
So far I have mixed feelings about the game.
To be honest I feel like I am playing worse version on persona.
It has some amazing elements like enchanting music. Absolutely genius UI. Fluid combat, great animations and unique look.
Yet it has the most bland dialogues. Exposing everywhere, uninteresting choices. The rest time activities feel much more meh compared to p5.
game makes you feel younger… what a dumb review. talk about the game already
Politics? Not here for that.
Next !
I don’t get how no reviewer really goes into the negatives of the game. I hate to be negative in the comment section but it always used to be that a review was a complete look at the game good and bad. Like for example you do the same forest dungeon about 5 times with slightly different lighting, the storyline is repetitive with almost everyone’s motivation being race and the dialogue is bad in places, some things established early game like needing certain archetypes to get through certain levels just get dropped, the game is very long which will be offputting to some and the graphics and textures are at least one generation back if not two. There’s also overheating issues on PS5 and people are reporting visual issues as well. Not sure why no reviewer will comment on this, is it because of sponsorship or what? Doesn’t detract from it being a good game, just isn’t perfect like everyone makes out.
Best metaphor review I've seen
Atlus, make a Fire Emblem game with this formula ❤
I stopped when she was calling what religion we believe in is fiction
The review is so well written…I am glad to see this level of quality. You are an asset to GameSpot for sure.
Its pretty good…over rated…but good
I knew I was gonna buy it.
Should've grabbed it when in was on sale last week.
Alas, I was broke.
Bought it yesterday instead.
Still Broke, but Stoked 🙂
Fantastic Review!
I loved your review! Thank you !!
Jessica, you are a superlative writer. Thank you for this review. You just sold me this game 🙂
After finishing the game and coming back to this review. This game truly does mean a lot to me as I can tell it was created by people who genuinely want a better world. The world is scary and change is hard but without hope for a better world we're no better off. I think this game should be played by a lot more people just for the messages and themes alone but overall still one of Atlus' finest achievements.
I have to say, you got me when you mentioned, no politics or religion in the game. That was enough for a like in the video. Good job Jessica!
this is a lovely poem from the heart from a gamer to another. awesome review. ❤️✨
Good grief the writing in this review is fantastic. Well done!
Such an amazing game…
Hire this person to do more reviews. Well thought out, can tell she actually played the game, solid script, relaxing voice.
This game's is special.
Major spoilers or what????
Great commentary, thanks for the review.
A 10?! LOLOLOLOL!!! What?! Are you serious?! This game was like a solid 7, maybe 7.5. And that's me being a huge Atlus/JRPG fanboy. Y'all got paid for this, no way you didn't. You all didn't even give Persona 5 a 10, and it was dimensions and universes superior to this game in every single way. Absolutely wild. A 10?! HAHAHAHAHAHA.
it's hard to really dig into why this game's narrative and messages are so poignant and profound without spoiling the whole thing, but you did as good a job as one can do
great review
This review is top notch. Great job!
What a great review. You can feel the attention to detail. Great job.
Wow, a big game news company actually putting out a super great review! Cheers!
I would give it a ten but its a good game. 8.5 from me.
Amazing review. I personally wasn't super sold on Louis but he's a better ultimate protagonist than we've had from JRPGs for awhile. I'm honestly surprised by how little fanfare this game is getting, the story made me cry multiple times and the overall theme/story is incredible.
She’s the reason I’m buying this game today.
When you enjoy both RPG's and Anime: all roads lead to Atlus.
Atlus the new Squaresoft…
I dunno what happen with gamespot , but lately all their review score is the same as what i would gave
music on 7:04 sounds like fire emblem three houses
Awesome review
Woman commentating? I leave dislike and watch a different reviewer
Gamespot made a great review? What?
Atlus just dont miss😤
forget the score, what a great review
This was a fantastically written summary
Does Will (the protagonist) have a set personality?
Been a Persona fan since P3 and never played a SMT game because they always felt intimidating, but I'll definitely check this out. I haven't been keeping up with gaming news so I literally learned about this game a couple days ago and it looks like everything I love about RPGs.
As someone who has played Persona 2 through Persona 5 Royal, the gameplay doesn't offer many surprises. The 3D models are the same as in P5R, and the mechanics—summoning personas, casting spells to exploit weaknesses, and gaining "1 More"—feel familiar. Dungeon exploration and combat resemble those in Persona 3 Reload. The story has a Final Fantasy vibe. By the way, there are NO romance elements in this game which is a disappoint to me. I’m not sure why some people are so excited about the battle BGM and UI menu—they’re good, but I think I'll get used to them after the first quarter of the game.
It seems the game is awesome, and so is the quality of the review
I played the demo. Some way in, Strohl drops a couple of extremely obvious hints about trauma in his past. 10 minutes later, he meets the man who burned down his village, and he has a moment of righteous impassioned anger. The incredible lack of subtlety, the blindingly rapid pace of this character 'development', killed what remained of my interest in the game.
There are some intriguing elements to the game, but the way it just hits you over the head with so many shallow, meaningless bits of fluff one after the other makes it impossible for me to care about anything that happens.
Great review but I can't with all of the mouth noises. Please don't eat the mic
