No thanks. The only reason to have a cat at all, is to cuddle with it. If it doesnt like it, it can go and f itself or fly out of the window. I am not going to feed it, clean its crap that smells like hell and change my whole lifes routine just to get absolutely nothing back for that. I honestly dont understand who likes cats. They are no pets for humans. They are great if you live on a farm, besides that. I see no real reason why someone would like cats.
Unfortunately for those of us who adore cats, you need to own several dozen of them before you find ONE cat that loves affection.
You could own 30 or 40 or 500 cats before you find that one.
That's the reality of loving cats: They DON'T love you, they just tolerate you.
They just don't give a fuck.

I got my kitty when she was about three weeks old at a friend's. She turned one in the third week of July. My kitty and her littermates were abandoned by their mother. She chose me–she paid attention to me where the other kitties didn't, but I could tell early on that she wasn't cuddly so I didn't force the issue. She does rub against my legs, nudges my hand with her head, lays with her belly showing, still gets all gnaw-y sometimes, and likes chin and shoulder scritches, and I can also stroker her back. She sits near me sometimes. And sometimes she'll run up and tap my hand or knee and then run off like it's a game of tag, lol. She'll also sit on the top of the chair sometimes when I'm watching tv or crocheting :).
Could a broken hind leg make a cuddly kitten. Not want to cuddle anymore? It took 2 1/2 months to get operated on. And was on pain meds all that time.
My Cat does not like to cuddle but at the end of June 2024 I was away from her about a month I had broke my foot. I thought she would not have anything to do with me but when I came home she started to come back to me.
Jack was a stray at 9 months old when I took him in. He not only wouldn't cuddle, he was violently aggressive when he felt threatened. Now, four years later, he loves to flip over in my lap when "he chooses" to cuddle. It's been a long and sometimes painful journey but well worth it. ❤ I love him with all my heart.
It's difficult to not expect cuddles when you've spent years with an absolute cuddle bug. I've been adopted by a cat who chose to be semi feral by leaving her former home at least twice. She spent the winter with me and I have to respect that she doesn't want to be held and will nip if there's too much petting but she likes to know where I am. It's difficult but she's her own cat.
It also depends upon how many cats you have living with you. If they interact with each other and play with each other, then they don’t need you.
I don't like cats. Way too scared and timid for me. I don't have the patience to baby an animal like that. Either you trust me or you don't. That's why I like dogs more they are way more socially intelligent.
My cat hops up on my desk and just "trust falls" on to me if I lean back. She will lay on my arm and chest and for about 30 seconds and then be like "nope this ain't working imma head out" then repeat the same interaction about 3 minutes later as long as I don't move her, if I do move her she simply lays down in one of the many cat beds she has

Only dumb people don't understand cats. They say stuff like cats are sneaky instead of saying that they are cautious. If only humans weren't so damn stupid. If you don't like cats. you lack empathy. Hitler didn't like cats and you are not any different, IMHO.! To hate cats is to hate life itself. Maybe you are a victim of a brain disease, the one that they call mental illness or in other cases, called that sadistic human-nature.
My cat, it took a long time to get her to let me hold her. I got her as a baby. She was miss treated as a kitten. But with patience and love she came to know that I won't hurt her. She has just started to climb up on my lap. I give her room and let her lead the way. It's great . And boy do she like it be rub. I love her and would do anything for her. She is great company ❤😊❤

Beamer is a total cuddler! Whenever I sit down, he sees that as an invitation to be on my lap or chest. I got him at 4 mos. old and we did, initially, incorporate treats. He is now 14 years old.

I have a NO cat. He was feral and has big issues with being constrained. What success I may have is done by ignoring him and letting him decide.
I use plastic construction bags to line the litter box. To dispose of the used litter, just pull out the litter in the bag and put it all in another bag that I can tie closed. I know it's a lot of plastic and a bit pricy, but it does make it so much easier for someone who has no place to wash the box. I use folder clips to secure the bag to the box so it won't shift around. Squeex seems to like the arrangement, too.
OH, BTW, she's a champion cuddler. The man who had her until she was old enough for adoption told me that she slept under his chin every night. She continued to do the same with me until she got too big and then, she just moved to my side. She's curled up by my side now waiting for her bedtime snack.
I have 2 rescue cats. They use the same litter box with no problems. I had to use a tub with sides pretty tall otherwise my little dog will go kitty pop hunting. My dog has short legs so she can’t reach the litter box. I was told at the place we got them was to empty box about every 3 months and wash it with mild dish detergent. There reasoning was that plastic absorbs the odors and cats don’t like strong smells. The opposite opinion comes from Jackson Galaxy. He says never wash the litter box because the cats need to be able to keep the smells that indicate it is their box. I’m sure which advice is more accurate. I tend to go with Jackson galaxy’s opinion. He is known as the cat daddy😅
