My two older cats were excellent nursemaids after I had a heart attack earlier in the year. They were already cuddle bugs, but they ramped up the attention after I got home and were glued to me 24/7. They are now teaching the kitten I rescued that "Mommy time" is one of her joys and responsibilities in this household. She's learning well, although she gets distracted easily. I have 3 cats, one of them is feral, her name is Piper. Piper had a troubled past. when I got her, the people who were supposed to be taking care of her were about to throw her outside forever (feral cats+outside=will never be caught again). Piper was never close to people, the first time I saw her she let me pet her but would run away from other people. Ever since I took her in she always greets me meowing at me, rubbing on me, and being very loving. I’ve never seen a cat so different around other people before, everytime someone comes over she won’t let them get near her. it’s like she’s traumatized from people, I hope she will be able to trust easier in the future. she’s so amazing and comforts me when I’m sad or stressed. 🙂
