NODs, infrared rifle scopes, even some digital cameras will have the resolution to do it. I did that with the NVDs back in ‘Nam… I mean, ‘Stan… years ago. Many nights were clear skies with no light pollution from the ground. I can tell you for certain that a lot of the stuff flying around up there was ours. And even more fascinating – a lot of it definitely was NOT ours. Everyone saw crazy stuff, whether it was in the sky or just a long ways down range in the dark. Unfortunately we didn’t always have the luxury to ponder the mysteries of the universe, if it wasn’t a threat or an objective, we just ignored it. But back stateside I’ve talked to a lot of other guys who’ve come home and started to process and question everything we saw. That’s why I love Tyler and this channel. He gets it. Here is a little 2nd hand story for you.
I was an officer on a commercial vessel off the East Coast of Canada in 2004 I think. We were doing circles off the West side of the Island of Anticosti to hide from the seas created by the tail end of Katrina.
I came onto watch and the Skipper, with his watchman, tell me and my watchman this story.
Looking to the West, over the Quebec shore, they saw a point of light moving over the mainland, or in that direction. Then another came to meet it. Then a third, and fourth. After the fourth one showed up, the guys said they seemed to start playing, and chasing each other around like a game of cat and mouse.
After several minutes a fifth light arrived. They said that the lights immediately got into a horizontal line and were stationary for about 30 seconds. Then, from the just North of the end of the line a blue beam appeared just below them. The beam spread from horizontal to about 45 degrees up. The points of light flew into the point in single file, the arc of blue light closed to a beam, and the night sky went dark.
Those guys were bug eyed and way too excited for it to be joke. They weren’t the type to joke around anyway.
