I have (or had) 6 cats, from who 4 not had any problems with other cats. Only one (home born) kitten became after two years the Alfa male… and did not respect the other cats, but only used his paws. Seems that he did not want to hurt any other cat, but he was fighting for power.
Later an other cat came to my house; he hated my cats, he hated me. And I did not give him food, because I knew he must be from somewhere in the neighbourhood. So when it was (wet) feeding time, he had to leave my house. But there was always dry food in my house, so he loved eating this dry food.
And he ( I named him Sparta) had always some fights with my other cats, which my cats almost al won. But still years later this cat belongs here too.
He was kind of smart. he noticed that I stood between my cats and him (at crucial moments). And then I gave him a place in a closet to eat his food. But still the one remaining cat and and Sparta never give in to each others. And of course they still will use their paws to each other, when one wants to pass the other in a limited space.
Why does literally every bit of advice over cats biting another’s neck stop short and say ‘don’t worry about a cat biting another’s neck for dominance unless it bothers the other cat’ and then doesn’t actually explain what to do if it does bother the other cat 🫣 literally everything I have found on this topic does not actually explain and that’s the bit I need!!! 😖
my kitten (male /9months now) is a monster. he will bite and eat EVERYTHING (socks, blankets, etc), I can manage with the cloth eating but he is CONSTANTLY jumping and bitting and bunny kicking my 14yo cat (female) she is in good health but obviously screams when he does this, I have tried correcting him but nothing works, he is spayed and is still like this, they have 2 bowls, 2 litter boxes, his own toys, his own space etc. nothing works and I'm losing my mind a bit. When scolded he will take revenge and bite you and run off. T____T

I have two cats at home. One pet store cat and one rescue cat. We’ve had the rescue since she was a kitten, but when we brought the pet store cat, they immediately hated each other. By the way, the pet store cat is named Teresa and the rescue cat is named Avery. What was weird was that Teresa, who was newer, bullied Avery a lot. This has been happening for years and I knew things had gone too far the second I saw Teresa bite out some of Avery’s fur.
