Too much more talking. Would have preferred more visuals.🤐
Tail docking should not be done for cosmetic purposes. It should only be done on a working dog that is in danger of losing its tail or getting injured while working. That is why docking was originally used.
What about a strange dog charging a man sitting in his front yard on the grass waiting for a toddler to come join him in the yard from inside the house? the surveillance video caught this, man peacefully on lawn, then suddenly man gets up and starts running for the house, and a dog can be seen running in the direction the man,. As the dog comes into the video, man no longer visible, dog was really moving fast like a race horse, running, barking, and then stops, standing with his legs a little spread, and watching the door that the man went through, no longer barking.
The man posted this on NextDoor tonight and said the dog was a pit bull, and he complained about the dog being allowed to have this behavior. Then several people replied to the post and complained about the prejudice against pit bulls and were acting kind of angry at the man, which surprised me, regardless of dog breed, an owner should keep their dog from running onto people's property unsupervised and uncontrolled.
One person explained to the man that she could see in the video that the dog was wagging its tail and is for this reason was not aggressive and was friendly and not a threat. She gave an example when she learned to look for whether a tail was wagging or not.
i googled the topic of meaning of tail wagging and was brought to this you tube video. Then i looked at the video again and am pretty sure the tail is wagging a little more to the right. i have the NextDoor video stopped now and can see the tail pointing to the dog's right. i thought the sound of the bark sounded playful and the dog looks and acts like a puppy, at least a year old probably, but this you tube video did not cover this kind of example.
What if it's a strange dog running toward you, looking right at you and barking with its tail wagging to the right? There was something a little weird about the NextDoor video, but i thought the man getting up and running inside before the dog got any closer was understandable, while he had been waiting for a toddler to come and join him on the lawn, and whether the dog was friendly or not, i think it's wrong for owners to let untrained dogs run the street freely,, unsupervised, this could endanger the dog, even if no humans are threatened, a scared human might want to use his front yard, and might carry some kind of weapon after learning that such a dog was running freely and might hurt the dog in self protection. Can this dog be trained not to run onto people's property barking at them?
I have had several that wagged when they anticipated violence. My wolfdog in particular.
Nice video but Siniscalchi declared himself that there is no intentionality in the tail wag
Just get to the flippin point! Omgoodness
My dog suffers from SEVERE anxiety and always wags her tail when she's scared or stressed. People that don't know her (like our new vet) see her wag her tail and they automatically assume that she's happy (I can't blame them, of course) but since I know her and know how scared she is of almost everything, I know that the opposite is true. She never shows any aggression, but her eyes get so scared and she pees herself a lot of the time. My poor girl. Idk what to do to help her.
Is tail wagging sometimes a sign of stress or a maybe a calming signal? It’s strange, but when my dog is panicking from separation anxiety, while he is barking/howling his tail will also be wagging!
All talk no action your shirt should read I’m an INFLUNSER
I cant find a video on this so i thought id ask: i have a 2 year old sterilised mix breed rescue. Ive had her for about 6 months and she is indeed insecure but she has made amazing progress in the short time ive had her. The weird thing is she doesnt play. She does the play bow thing with other dogs and runs a bit but jumps out of the way for anything close contact, and as for me and my guy she just doesnt seem to get it? She sometimes show that she wants to play but when we engage, and we have tried a lot of different ways, she stops. She doesnt even seem interested in running after a ball or stick. The toys we've bought her are unused as she doesnt seem to comprehend what they are for. She has, as far as we know, lived at a compound for her entire life. So i reckon she hasnt had much play before. Any advice on how to introduce play to her?
Fantastic video!! I loved it 💕 Tail and ear docking is unethical… it doesn’t serve the dog well in most cases and as you said, it impedes on some vital communication. I would personally only ever dock a tail if there were medical reasons for doing so (ie, broken, damaged or what not) and I would only remove as much as I had to.
Two of my dogs do not have trails they are Australian Cattle Dogs.
Thank you. Its forbidden to dock dogs' tails and ears in Belgium so problem solved (this is not true for all European countries). When a loud noise is heard I immediately look at our Australian shepherd's tail to figure out what she makes of it so I believe all dogs should keep their tail intact.
Love the shirt!
