I just know this game for the main character being trans what is awesome
IMPORTANT: If you want to buy Celeste, make sure you do it on PC instead of console. That way, you get access to every mod made for the game, all for free (+cost of game). Two of the best-liked and most content-packed mods are the Spring Collab and Strawberry Jam, although there are plenty of other excellent mods you can find if you look. But if you buy on console you can't experience any of it. Now, for my personal notes:
Celeste was the first (non-Scratch) platformer I ever put any appreciable amount of time into playing. It took me 72 hours to beat the first time (although a lot of that was because the timer doesn't stop in the pause menu), and now I have beaten the game in under an hour; collected all the hearts and red berries, the moon berry, and several golden berries; and am working my way through completing my first Expert level in the Strawberry Jam mod! I have hundreds of hours in the game, and so far as I'm concerned it's been time well spent.
I have 800 hours on this game. I'm also on the hard list.
I did evrything in the game, but 9a is the only time in the hole game where i stoped haveing fun
not honest enough imo.
game devs intentionally left out lore "scripts" about the mountain to not "ruin" the journey.
so the story and Lore surrounding the whole game and characters make no sense.
on top of original creator was going through their own struggles "transitioning" and even included it as final DLC ending implying the character was "part of transitioning" as well.
it's a case of "too much personal involvement and investment into a character"
for all its worth ; still the greatest platformer of this time.
could've used a better lore and cohesive story for the mountain and characters.
and also would've been more fun as an open platformer Metroidvania.
