This is so incorrect is crazy…there are apple heads and deer heads and they come in every single coat colour imaginable..both long and short for both..your making this way to confusing for ppl…only apple heads are recognized by the kennel club tho…
As a chihuahua breeders for 15 years, alot of the info here is incorrect and it's very is easier to breakdown. There are 2 headshapes Apple or deer so that's your starting point then with Apple domed headed there are 2 coat types smooth or long, but with long there are many variations in coat length and thickness inc them having double coat. The in the apple headed chihuahua there are different bloodline from different countries which give different characteristics and looks but the 3 major ones are the standard which means that this chihuahua must be as close to the Uk kennel clubs description of a chihuahuas confirmation, weight size and colour. The standards chihuahua has the apple domed head compact and racey appearance with large ears and a small not overly long muzzle but definitely has a bridge to their nose. Then there are Russian bloodline chihuahua which can also be shown as their confirmation etc can show standard they tend to have a neater shorter squarer muzzle with large expressive eyes & still a very Apple domed head and short compact appearance. Then there are Thai bloodline chihuahuas which have a totally different look they have a cartoon look to their faces with huge eyes a flat or up tilted muzzle and wide jaw set and sometimes a slight underbite, they're are bigger & chunkier than the standard or Russian bloodlines and can be aware up too 5kg which eventually they'll be selectively bred to be smaller over time. They are tremendously cute and so popular atm.
Then to other head shape which is the Deer headed Chihuahua also comes in both coat types but I believe more commonly is smooth coated. The deer head has a more streamlined appearance with a pointer longer muzzle and less of a pronounced rounded head and smaller eyes & has more of a whippet/ terrier type of appearance with longer legs and larger but athletic appearance but can be over fed very easily and Deer head chihuahua, like Thai bloodline chihuahuas can not be shown even if they're Kc registered because they would not fulfil the show standards of the breed. Then from the deer head there's only one separate outcome which is the pear head which as this video states very well that it's very undesirable and unfortunately very common from people purchasing a cheaper deer head bitch and then deciding to bred her to an expensive standard or Russian stud hoping the pups will take after the stud, but to avoid you over paying for a pup as all pups are so cute and look perfect, ask to see the parents or don't collect pup till it's slightly older so you can see how it's developed & is looking. There's no such thing as a teacup it's just one of the small pup in a litter and there's no such thing as a fawn chihuahua and I think it's a very older term for the apple head chihuahua as originally their foundation dogs of this types were all fawn. TBF, 1) there will be individuals in a breed that don't conform to the stereotypes of its breed, 2) they still have dog brain and trainable, so an owner's treatment of a chihuahua will have an impact on their behavior.

We have a Fawn Colored Long Hair Chihuahua. He will be 12 years old next month and everything this video says is true as far as his personality. The only anomaly is his sizeHe stands nearly 25cm at the shoulder and weighs almost 8 kilograms. He is very loving, very protective and very loyal. And he loves to rough house with me, but won't do it with my wife. And he is very gentle around my grandkids.

Our little Chihuahua was stolen i still think of her and its been yrs. Everybody lived her she was very affectionate and playful. As well as being supersmart and adorable. At times she could be a bit loud especially when rhere was a knock atbthe door and she did not recognize who it was – it was rathwr funny. Anyways i had to put in a word for our little furball child

Short haired chihuahuas shed way more than long haired as they have a thick undercoat that sheds for most of the spring & summer. Long haired don’t have as thick an undercoat. Deer head chihuahuas do have stops (all dogs do). The difference being, an apple head has a 90 degree stop. Theres 2 head types (apple & deer), 2 body types (cobby and deer), 2 coat types (long & smooth). Very inaccurate video
There are only 2 recognized Chihuahuas, long hair and short hair. There's no such thing as a teacup, deer head, apple head etc. Avoid any breeder who says otherwise. Apple shaped head is a breed characteristic, not an actual sub variety of the breed.
