I emailed Jackson's team this, maybe someone in the community has some ideas. I appreciate anyone that takes the time to read this because I really need help… I adopted 2 stray cats that clearly lived outdoors their whole life. When I brought them in as indoor cats, I was living in a house that had windows on all 4 sides, and they of course “followed the sun” and laid in whatever room the sun was shining through. We had to move into an apartment and I promised them I’d make them a catio so they could get outside, and that they’d have access to sunshine. You can’t find an apartment with windows on all 4 sides but I was intentional about finding one with windows on at least 2 sides. I was elated to find one with a big slider that accesses a small patio, a big bedroom window, and a small kitchen window. I’ve never lived in an apartment and it didn't cross my mind that the sun might NEVER cross all of the windows. I looked on a sun tracker app and realized the sun never crosses the slider (and thus the yard) and bedroom window, just the small kitchen window. I had a breakdown and can’t stop crying. I feel it’s a basic need to be in the sun, that’s not being met. Luckily the sun from the kitchen window does hit the opposite wall in the living room. I don’t want to put a mirror there as my girls don’t understand them or react well to them. I’ve been looking up sun catchers but all I can find are small ones. I want them to get that big square of sunshine on the floor that they can lay in. I’m thinking to create a wall that will reflect the sun, like a huge sun catcher, but I can’t find anything on the internet on how to do this. Do you think this would work, do you have any ideas?!

I left the cabinet door open to the pots and pans and, with Joe perched by the open door, went to bed. About an hour later we heard a mighty crash. He didn't get the mouse but he put on a great show.
I had my house sprayed in for years and never saw a roach. I only have somebody left one in the front door so I had these 3 kids come live with me. I took them in to help DSS out because they were taken from the mother. They brought so much stuff here. I believe they brought roaches in my home. So I got I sent him back to DSS with all they're junk and so kick n. I. Kko NIKO niko, she has been. Killing all the roaches and I sweep in mop up all the time.But my cat loves to hunt.She is, she is awesome man, but I think she thinks there's something under my dishwasher or my stove.She was looking so hard at both of them for the longest since she would not miss she would not move that position
Good morning, question Jackson. My cat gets down in a really, really comfortable fold. I mean, she's got her hair all the way down to the floor and she's staring staring and under my dishwasher or my stove, and she's like listening intent. Does that mean I have a mouse or is it a roach a bug? She will not let up until she's got something. She sit there almost all day 1 day. Then she gets over the vent in my bedroom and it's like she hears something. Deep.

Looking through a more science lens, I think all creatures are geared to seek moving water vs still water, since moving water is less likely to be stagnant and deadly, so we have evolved that way.

About the mumma cats; at the rescue where I work, we had two mummas come in from the same house and they were raising each other's young. Their kittens are absolute best friends and we made sure to rehome all the kittens with at least one of their friends from the other litter. All of the kittens and one mumma have gone to their new homes and the other mumma is on reserve!

Females raising others kittens, can personally attest to that. As a kid, three cats of ours gave birth in the same month. Sorry, I know it's bad, we were dirt poor at the time. Anyway, one mama cat abandoned the kittens, and we panicked and with no other option, presented them to another mama, and she took the kittens in instantly. Not only that, but the original mother learned from the two others what to do, and they practically communally raised all their kittens together.
Cats mean the world to cat people. Something most will not understand just how deep that bond goes.

Help Cat Community – In 2020, I realized cats were having kittens in my backyard. My daughter and I have rescued 7 litters. We have also particpated in the humane society's trap and release program. Our cat rescues in town get full and our county shelters burst at the seams. We found homes for those we could but I now I have ten cats! For the most part, they all get along – except for one. She chases one smaller female cat and attacks her. She goes outside the litter box throughout the house. The VET said she had no urinary problem and gave her Gaba Pentin to calm her nerves. The problem is she will not take the medicine. It tastes like berries and she hates it. I've tried Jackson's natural sprays and they are really great – but her behavior persists. Do any of you know of a good tasting calming treat? I currently have one of the plugin pheromones spray for calming but it's only been a month.
I'm feeling rather stressed as I am moving to an apartment style condo that doesn't get any sunbeams actually coming in and I know how much my cat loves to lay in the sun. She'll still have windows to look out of (though not as good of views as she currently has) but no actual sunbeams. 😥😥
