Thanks Jackson for everything!
I watch all your videos, over and over. I try to understand and put in place every single thing that you say! Now, we are fostering 2 cats: a kitten (probably 2 months) and an adult (lovely stray) cat. They don't know each other. I try do every single thing that you propose, and, actually, I mix tips from different videos. I hope I'm doing the right thing! The kitten is very shy and can use a blanket as litter box, so it's a challenge for me. In meanwhile, I already introduced the entire house to the other cat. Please, any help (again)!!!
First time cat foster here, I got my little man today he is 5 weeks and is sick with your regular abandon kitten stuff,( eye gunk, worms, ect) He want's nothing but to be on my shoulder he follows me like a lost puppy. This video has helped shed some light on what my little guy needs while he stays with me.
I found a kitten on Memorial Day. I couldn't leave him because he was crying loud and after 2 hours it's mom never came and he finally came to my son. We were going to foster and find him and find him a home, my main concern having a 2 year old cat with a 4 week old. It was scary the way my cat hissed at him and wanted to kill him. The next day, they started playing under the door Crack. Now the 2 year old is grooming my 4 week old and my son is attached. We even had to name him to get veterinary treatment. So much for fostering
My family and I have been fostering for almost 3 years…. Going to continue doing till I'm old AF. We've met and helped so many beautiful little fuzzy souls
I couldn’t find a video about this, but I just got 2 new kittens cause I didn’t want one of them to be lonely. They were fostered by someone else for about 2 months and now I have them but how do I get them to feel more comfortable in their new surroundings: inset up their base camp in my room so they get comfortable with me but they just want to hide under the dresser and sleep.
Thank you Jackson! I recently started fostering because I wanted to help kitties. It’s such a great experience every time I welcome them home and watch them grow but saying goodbye is the hardest. Each good byes are the same as my first batch of fosters. I worry if they’ll go to a great home.
We took in a senior cat to give him a better life … he’d been living in a home that the owner had left 4 years ago … she would go in every week or so to leave food. He’s been with us 3 weeks and is still hiding in the master bedroom, under the bed. He now runs around that room but doesn’t come out.
(Our home is all open … there are no doors.)
He has bonded with hubby but will only come to me when I have food.
We just adopted two littermates – an orange and white boy named Spot, and a calico girl named Patches. We got their base camp set up in our spare bedroom – their litterbox, food and water bowls, and a box with a towel in it.This is their first day with us,we can hear them from the living room if they start meowing. They spent a lot of time underneath the fish tank stand sleeping, and paying with one of those round cat toys with the tracks and balls going around it.Patches is a little shy right now,and Spot is more of a mama's boy.
"Slowly, slowly"… just like an ASMR haha
If you watched my channel I have fostered many cats, Leo, Marshmallow, Silver, and Ziggy
And now we need to learn post-COVID that post-quarantine we will witness an enormous abandonment of animals as people return to “reality “. Don’t push adoption early in a pandemic because people will dump animals when they get their freedom back 😢
just brought home two foster kitties today. its my first time fostering so im pretty excited but also nervous. i took them out of the crate and one of them pooped in my hand immediately and they’re infected with worms 😊😊 so fun and exciting lol wish my luck
I had a bookshop in Ohio wherein shelter cats were fostered and then adopted by customers. More than 50 were adopted from my shop over the years. I then wrote a series of novels about the experience (Shelve Under C is the first) to encourage other shops to look into fostering dogs, cats, rabbits, etc. The business that took over my location continued to foster, thankfully.

I've just been offered to foster from a charity as I love cats and I'm super knowledgeable about cats and basically all animals. I'm autistic so I can't have dogs (noise sensitive) I've always loved cats more I'm so excited and I'm going to do my best to get my flat perfect for all animals that enter my home.
…IF they leave you.😉🐱🐅🐈🐅🐆🐈🐅🐆🐅🐈🐆🐆
I would foster, but my heart would break every time they’d find an owner. I’d miss them too much.
We took in two kittens, we think at the time they were about 5 – 6 months old. We found them in an old garage on a property we bought, I started feeding them, they were obviously very hungry. I became their "meals on wheels" LOL That's what I would say when I pulled up to the garage, they would come running! I would drive 12 minutes twice a day to feed them. They began to trust us and let us pet them, they loved the attention! I had to wear gloves because I have an allergy to cats, plus they were very dirty and COVERED with fleas! They had worms too. Eventually we caught them in traps, very carefully and very quietly. I think they are called Have a Heart traps?? Took them to get spayed, they are both little girls, which we didn't know until then. The idea was to take them back to the property and let them go, but I couldn't do it. We had built some trust over a few months, I didn't want to think we abandoned them. So being the sucker that I am for animals, brought them to our house, we set up the back porch for them. (enclosed porch) And after watching this video, we did everything right! lol They spend their days going in and out of the house, they are mostly in though. (just to porch, not outside)
And now they have been here over a year. Olga is a beautiful black and white cat, I guess she is a Tuxedo cat? Her sister Oogy is part Calico and something else. Not beautiful, but she is pretty cute. They look SO much better! Their fur is SO much better! Softer and shiny and healthy. Bright happy eyes…. to look at pictures of them when we first found them, it's pretty sad. They both LOVE attention, they come when you call them, they are playful, they let me brush them a little, they are still skittish though, noises scare them easily, a home with kids would not be good, but they still won't let us pick them up, i THINK other cats would be ok, how would I know for sure? They seem interested in our cat, Kitty, but Kitty won't have any part of another cat.
Kitty was left behind when my parent's neighbors moved away, she has been with us 9 years now, she is about 14 …. this is her forever home, and I have to say, she is THE BEST CAT EVER!!! We still say to this day, we don't know how anyone could leave her, she is SUCH a good kitty!
I am still hoping to find a home for Olga and Oogy together, I want to make sure they will be loved and taken care of. It's hard to find cat people, I think most people are dog people.
Anyway . . . thank you Jackson for your videos and all you do!
Theese captions are horrible 😆
Jackson, I want to foster to eventually adopt, but I have an old love bird. Will that be a problem? I don't want a kitten jumping on the cage, freaking out the bird. What say you?
❤️
Hi
Great and effective tips. This is the way to do it thank you. I did almost all of these and she warmed up very quickly
