Such a great game! Deserves 10/10!
I just finished the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. It's good, but not definitely not great. It's the best Indiana Jones game to date, to be sure, but it still has a way to go to be a really good game overall. They got the look, voice, and feel of Indiana Jones down cold, which is amazing. And there is a lot of fun to be had taking out Nazis and tomb raiding for treasure and upgrades. The story is pretty stellar. It's very inventive and fits well into the existing mythology. It looks great, sounds incredible, and I think die hard Indy fans are going to love it.
The big drawback is the gameplay. The choices for the default button assignment are quite unconventional. It makes for a very frustrating experience, especially if you're a seasoned gamer. Even though I customized my button bindings, with the combined functions (depending on what you're doing), it didn't help much. Another element that brings the game down is that you can't select a specific objective and stick with it, you have to commit with whatever is closest. Having to constantly draw your journal out to refresh your destination is more than a little annoying.
And then there is the bugginess. What is it with Bethesda and glitchy games? A couple of times I fast travelled back to a previous city, because a glitch caused me to skip ahead too early and miss a whole cutscene and a ton of side quests. On top of that I was trapped in a room with no way to get back to said side quests. I actually had to use cheat in order to escape and complete the game properly. Another glitch that occurred fast travelling was that Indy couldn't move when I arrived! I could push myself backwards, punch and jump, but that's it. I had to push myself backwards into a room to grab an item in order to break the glitch! And yet another oddity happened when jumping back to Southeast Asia and Gina kept screaming "Oh god That was a close one!" every 5 seconds and wouldn't stop! I actually had to turn the sound off in order to do concentrate. Thankfully I didn't have a lot of side quests left at that point, or I would have given up.
I never 100% got used to the combat mechanics and the navigation felt 'clunky'.
Huge plusses, but a number of big minuses. I get that Machine Games was trying to distinguish itself from the inevitable comparisons to Uncharted, but what we have here is a decent first draft. For the sequel, I would hope they refine the button assignments, how to track objectives and spend more time working out the bugs. With that fixed, they just might have a perfect Indiana Jones game.
I just finished this game about a week ago. And I’ve been thinking a lot about my experience over the past few days. And I have to be honest, at first I thought I loved the game. The graphics were fantastic, and the storyline and characters were incredibly engaging and compelling. BUT. The more I reflected on this game, the more I came to realize that while, yes, it really is quite good, there were a lot of parts of it that, the more I think about them, have made me like the game a little less. For instance, it felt like a lot of the game was just sneaking around, trying not to get spotted by bad guys. And then when you do, it’s not completely clear what you’re supposed to do. Sure, you can get into a hand hand fight with the bad guys, and this certainly is fun. Or, you can shoot them. But either way, there were too many parts where if you picked a fight with someone, all the other bad guys would just descend upon you, and there was no way to defeat them. The game didn’t have any way to knock someone out quietly. If it did, I totally missed it. But it’s sort of got annoying toward the end. Because you need to steer around a bunch of bad guys and not get detected – but this is almost impossible.
if harrison ford retires because of age! troy baker is the only indiana jones replacement if they make another movie in the future!!
I played the Tomb raider survivor trilogy a few times. One of the best game trilogies ever but
Indiana Jones is a masterpiece. The best game I played in 2024. Hands dow. And I'm not even done with the game. I'm just beginning. 😮
I'm so glad I have a xbox now. Wow
I’d rather just watch play through tbh, game looks tedious af to actually play
I'm 48. I have been watching and listening to Harrison Ford in movies pretty much all my life. I actually thought they got Harrison for the voice acting when I first played.
I know Karate!!! Got me 😂
Even the save system is a 10/10 just continue from the menu. I never had problems with doing areas again cause a bad save file
I hear NO Audio.
8:55 among all the chaso; i like how the npc is still minding his own busin and tryna do his cleaning job 🤣
1. Original John Williams Indiana theme, nowhere to be found in the game!
2. 70 percent is unplayable cinematics, 30 percent is gameplay
3. In the Bible God promised Noah, He will never send another flood again. At the end of the game we see start of another flood, making God a liar.
4. Instead of making us seat in chair for countless hours watching cinematics, give us a story told with gameplay and short cinematics. We will watch original movies instead of cinematics.
PC review: 6
Too much walking, not enough danger, too few interesting enemies and traps. There's not enough clever action mechanics (where's Lara ?) Finding a key is not my idea of exciting gameplay. There's hardly any tension. It's like a tourist's discovery holiday. But it looks great and has a fabulous story.
This game makes me feel so good. It's awesome.
Igns review is almost double this
For anyone who has not yet played the game and notices the “nun” throwing hands… it’s exactly what it looks like 😂
I HOPE THEY RELEASE THIS ON THE SWITCH 2. THEY SHOULD MAKE AN M RATED SEQUEL WITH A SIMILAR FEELING TO THE TEMPLE OF DOOM.
Voice actor did an amazing job
i used my free month of game pass to play this last night. needless to say after work im going to buy a copy! its a masterpiece! first i wanna watch all the movies tho
Whoa, was not expecting that no context nun at around the 7 minute mark
One hit with a guitar kills the soldier huh
This game satisfies as much as the films. Astounding.
Indiana Jones was my childhood. I hope this is as good as everyone says
Ponies are big mad 😂
Am I the only person that like Dial of Destiny?
Thou it has flaws, I think this is the best game I have played this year.
This game has me addicted! So good! 10/10!
Finally a win for Series X and S.
I just wish it wasnt first person. it's not more immersive.tbh this looks worse than star wars outlaws in combat and stealth
Wow, what a letdown… Game Blows. The End, Next.
9/10 😂🤦
This game is terrible!
The true 4th Indiana Jones movie 🎥 FINALLY
This reviewer did a terrible job of reviewing the game whilst avoiding spoilers. That's unforgivable for a story-driven first-person adventure.
I hope this game sells, pure stealth unfortunately isn't all that popular in gaming 😮💨
What a miss by Xbox announcing it for PS before it even launched.
Will this better than Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis? man i loved that game as a kid, first point and click adventure game i finished myself without help from my sisters 🤣
Good engine
Troy Baker is a treasure. We must protect him at all costs
Game is insane
I don't know if it's YouTube video compression, or the fact that this video is uploaded at 1080P, but the clothing textures look very dated. Indy's suit jacket, which you will see a lot in 3rd person view, looks very undetailed and low-res textured. This is not what I was expecting given how demanding the game is to run on PC. Is this console game footage?
No unreal engine no buggy 10 fps game
Watch Doctor Disaster’s video on this game. I wouldn’t touch it with a ten foot pole!!!
Nice try diddy
Creativity is everything, no creativity no AAA games.
Fire arms were never a first, second or third option because the game focuses on making you feel like Indians Jones. https://i.makeagif.com/media/8-08-2015/n3NIZU.gif
I’m surprised it wasn’t playing the iconic music during the first mission. I played it myself in the background and it made the game way better. Makes me wonder how many times that happens in game. I thought they hired someone to do the music too so what gives?
