Is Gotham Knights A Failure? My Honest Thoughts So Far

I think there is a retro ps2 vibe super hero theme look at the menu system. I think that's whats giving off the live servive fake vibes.

I'm a bit afraid to dive fully into the video because I don't want to get spoiled and I just started playing the game. I think this game got too much hate just because it was overshadowed by the arkham series which is probably a masterpiece and probably my best game series (very close with DMC for me). I don't mind at all their new approach with the new combat, personally as a red hood lover I think I love this red hood gameplay a lot more than I did in batman arkham knight but I do think it could have been improved. Every dialogue being kind of different based on who you play it's a pretty nice touch aswell, the co-op side of the game it's interesting but unfortunately I never had anyone to play it with yet so I have no clue how the performance will be but it might be fun for sure, DC universe online vibes to some extent (exploring gotham, fighting goons).
I've heard that this game was buggy at launch, right now the only bugs i've experienced are only cutscene related (the motion is weird without vertical sync on in cutscenes) and when the subtitles flicker in the cutscene, anything else seemed fine so far or it was too minimal to even care about it.
The dialogues are obviously on the "family friendly" side, even with the kinky interactions with harley, but we have to understand the world we live in currently, how easily someone gets triggered and how easily someone get's canceled but that's besides the point, personally I enjoy the interactions so far and it feels natural.
The traversal is my biggest complaint, I dont care about the fast travel, I dont care about red hood jumping in the air due to some lazarous pit buff, all of this it's alright to me and it's whatever but I'm a biker IRL, seeing Red hood (who is well known ever since comics) to be THE BIKER of the bat family, driving on like 60 KM/h it's just utterly dissapointing (also the bike itself looks awful, I like the futuristic touch but they could have gone with a different design and it would have been better)
The mods are completely just whatever, they could have gone rid of the mods mechanic completely and it would have made the game better, the gear stuff with styles that's really cool and I enjoy all the options you have.
At the end of the day, after playing it for maybe around 15 hours already, I really enjoy it, I would honestly recommend it on a sale, BUT MAYBE, in it's current state (cause it was buggy as hell at release) and being a batman fan (and especially a Red Hood fan), I could see myself dropping 60 euros for this game so yeah, Highly recommend it on a sale, it is a solid 7 and you could maybe push it to 8 or even 8.5 once you get over the tedious interface and understand how to work with it and how the combat works.

I love this game its great but one thing I don’t like it’s the big boss guys and the fucking drone people it just ruins my combos and it makes me just wanna get off lol.

Anyway, fair and valid points and opinions, it’s a shame that the Game didn’t turn out as well as hoped, but would you say that it’s good enough to be considered as a step towards the right direction, if they are going to continue?

I love this game… I didn't get it when it came out cuz everyone said it was bad because of the frame rate… It doesn't bother me… Many expected this to be a Batman game… And they clearly showed you it wasn't 🤣💯

I knew this game was gonna be bad in my book simply from the fact that not one of the ads I got (and I got a least twenty to thirty) did not play properly and would nearly break my speakers.

I usually find myself agreeing with mainstream opinion on videogames, but I divert from most people on this one. I think this game was AMAZING. It has phenomenal replay ability because you can beat it four separate times with four separate heros. Playing arkham knight, I would only beat it twice in a row before I needed a break. I've never had a game that I could replay four times in a a row.

I enjoy the traversal, boss fights and all the customisation. However I miss the free flow brawling combat and predator stealth sections of the Arkham games.

I'm loving the game tbh. Even tho I'm barely able to play it on PC (I don't meet min spec on processor, but I do have a pretty close enough of a processor, and I meet min video), I am still enjoying it. Like, I love the gliding when you can unlock it. Which, btw, that's the only thing I hate about the game is that I had to unlock it. But when you do, Batgirl's gliding is great. I do have a couple issues, and that's kinda on me, I expected it to be alot more similar to the Arkham games and it's just not. Like the fighting, it's not as fluid in my opinion. It's not bad, by any means, but I just had these expectations of it being similar to Arkham Knight and it's not that. But that's on me.

I personally think you can't compare Gotham Knights with the Arkham games.

It's sorta like comparing GTA V to Fortnite, you can't, you can compare Warzone and Fortnite or Avengers and Gotham Knights or the Arkham games Shadow of War.

I'd go as far to say it's only far to compare a game to another game of the same genre.

Despite all the negativity, now that I've played it quite a bit myself, it's actually not that bad it has potential but the main thing is will that potential be realized? With the way a lot of games have been in past years I'm extremely doubtful but obviously I welcome the chance to be put at ease. But again very doubtful lol, we'll see i guess 🤷‍♂️

I like this game more than the arkham games and i stand on that you have way more customization in this game game play feels deeper for me different characters skills suits and all thay

I like the game but the movement system is extremely annoying. No jump button, input delay on everything, slow bike and time trials which are frustrating due to all of this.

I’m not defending the game but it’s ridiculous everyone is basing the game a failure because it’s on sale did everyone forget Black Friday exists shit goes on sale on Black Friday that is just how it is

The main story was interesting to me, the cutscenes and bonding moments were amazing especially since i played all 4 characters and the crime fighting was cool at first but it became tedious and outward annoying to me in the end. It was not fun fighting the late game enemies.

I don’t think I trust WB Montreal with Teen Titans. Would it be about only one Titan like GK?
