Any idea that ancient aliens were there at any stage does not fly with me. But, I am not necessarily convinced by the current interpretation of archaeological evidence either. The 12th – 18th centuries looks too recent to me. Not ancient visitors but so far science has no conclusive model either. I am not sure of who exactly, when, how or what things like the statues of Rapanui mean. I do not see how anybody might seriously believe they know.
