I was reading "The Art & Making of Control" from FuturePress last night and I came across this bit on Jesse Faden and her design:
"It means that you're not necessarily projecting yourself onto this character; rather, you're assisting them with their goals." This approach works best when you, as the player, want to do what the character wants to do. "By being really careful when drafting the story, especially the early parts of the game," [Sam Lake] explains, "we ensure that you'll be excited about the things you're discovering. If the character reacts against these things and wants to be away from this situation, that's a problem. So we tried to make a character that is just as excited as the player, and wants to go in and explore. That's very much part of Jesse."
And I couldn't help but think of how the writing team behind Forspoken went virtually the opposite with Frey and how it negatively impacts the players own excitement.

Forspoken is a lot of fun though, but takes a while to get started. It's better when you get to the open world part about 2 hours in. You unlock a lot more spells later too – which makes it a bit better. The voice acting is fine – no different to any other video games out there. 7/10 for me at the moment. (25 hours in) – also on PS5, i've had no performance issues.
It just didn't feel right not having a weekly dose of gaming news from Brian. Welcome back!

Also avengers was also square game before they sold them off. I was super bummed how this came out, 2019 seemed like we were in a golden age of comics media and this felt this Moby dick but instead of classic literature turned out to a whale hunt
