Everyone Hates Forspoken, Marvel's Avengers is Ending, Skate 4 Has Lootboxes – Inside Games Dig

I was reading "The Art & Making of Control" from FuturePress last night and I came across this bit on Jesse Faden and her design:

"It means that you're not necessarily projecting yourself onto this character; rather, you're assisting them with their goals." This approach works best when you, as the player, want to do what the character wants to do. "By being really careful when drafting the story, especially the early parts of the game," [Sam Lake] explains, "we ensure that you'll be excited about the things you're discovering. If the character reacts against these things and wants to be away from this situation, that's a problem. So we tried to make a character that is just as excited as the player, and wants to go in and explore. That's very much part of Jesse."

And I couldn't help but think of how the writing team behind Forspoken went virtually the opposite with Frey and how it negatively impacts the players own excitement.

loving the new extremely fast review segment, but could the theme song for the segment itself be a little extremely fast? like something that might prompt a brief headbang from the listener?

I played the demo…that's enough Forspoken for me lol. There are just too many other games available for me to play something like that. Especially with the cringe-tacular protagonist.

Maybe Squeenix should stop making fucking stupid games.

Wasn't forspoken a big part of a state of play? Seems like square skills have given them whatever they never to fix it

Also avengers was also square game before they sold them off. I was super bummed how this came out, 2019 seemed like we were in a golden age of comics media and this felt this Moby dick but instead of classic literature turned out to a whale hunt

Cyberpunk was worse to the point its had trouble loading textures in ps4 while sony delisted that till its fix, sony is allowing mediocre mess to be on their store just because they had decent relation with SE.
