Thanks for the review. I like that YouTube has a vast library of older reviews for games, because they have a long life as far as interests. Thanks for the heads up about checkpoints. I prefer quick saves myself. Players have different weaknesses in FPSs. Even surviving a particular challenge, a player might want to do better and experiment with different tactics. Checkpoints discourage that.
I agree, James woods should have gotten more roles like this. If you haven’t seen his action comedy role with Micheal J Fox, the hard way. I recommend that, it’s a fun buddy cop action movie

Still the best doom game.
It’s so true even 6 yrs later. I wish this game was more of a Doom, but with all the weapons and then some, and some reimagined levels and new ones than the silly lore they added in. Its the same thing with Doom eternal, great game but felt like Doom guy being some sort of avenger, chosen one took away from the charm the og doom had. Give Doom 1 with raytracing and the super shotgun and damn we have a pretty good game right there.
I liked the game right up until the Cyberdemon battle which felt very restrictive and console esque. Considering the arena in which you fight the Cyberdemon in the orginal, to be confined to a corridor and have to time jumps to avoid attacks just felt wrong. I'm glad they did away with this in Eternal.

The reason you have to download after inserting a disk is because the game isn’t always on their usually it works more like an installer and you need to put the disk in each time as versification that you didn’t just put it in the system and get a refund
Honestly consoles run it good enough the switching slows down the gage a bit to let you access the wheel and everything else is mapped appropriately

It's hard to believe that this game is already 5 years old.
After playing the game I think my Gdude was a bit harsh in this review. I kinda feel his newer videos have more depth.

After 5 years I finally got my hands on this one and I love it, I even started a second playthrough in nightmare difficulty, nothing like being killed mid air by a fireball
