Just went and tried the website, it seems live (Aug 20, 2022) Watch out though, it might not work with some dark themes on a phone. Had to switch to another browser without my dark theme to get the answer.
Looks excellent but it seems a multi player solitaire with the exception of the final thumbs thing, opposed to cryptid and planet x where you can gather information during opponents turns
Game looks interesting and a lot of fun. Can't get over the fact that you went into a con with thousands of people when you were feeling sick though. Very irresponsible 🙁
Does finding the cards to use take a while
I’m happy it turned out to be a hit for you. It looked so bland and there was SOOO much at the con I didn’t dedicate time to it.
Wow 🤩 thanks for this review, my kind of game 👍
This is a strange situation where I think the game's mechanism for implementing the game is way more cool and interesting than the mechanism the player uses to play it.
I think I would happily enjoy playing this game, but I feel like the gameplay isn't that much different than lots of other pure deduction games. It's just that the components allow for more variety in the setup
Have you played scandaloh? Curious to hear your thoughts on that one…
Thanks for the review–this looks great! May I ask how much this game costs retail?
I'm a bit miffed at the title of the game because this has nothing to do with a Turing Machine
oh my dear lord this looks INCREDIBLE!
Really appreciated the run-through explanation. I was so curious how this game worked, and your video really helped. The design seems really ingenious! Not sure it's right for my play group, but it's the kind of game I'd love to play a few times at a game cafe or at a convention or something. Very cool!! Props to the designers for figuring out how to make those cards so that the right answers show through the cards — my brain is boggling trying to figure out how exactly they did it.
It looks awesome. I've been waiting to hear about this. Disheartened to hear you were sick but still interacted with a bunch of people at the con. Seems like the antithesis of logic to me. Hope you feel better and didn't spread it around.
Just an FYI, the website IS up, it’s just in beta form.
I love deduction games and a super fan of Planet X.
I backed The Lost Code. Which one do you like better The Lost Code or Turing Machine?
Amazing! How did they do this? Thank you for the review – it was hard to follow (!) but I get it – surely a great game for puzzle fans!
I didn't know about this game before Gen Con. As an engineer, after the first few seconds of a demo I knew I had to have it. This game is amazing for puzzle people!
Continuing the logic at 6:50, you know purple is the max number, so blue can't be 5 either. And because you know there are more odds than evens, then blue can't be 2 or 4 either. So blue is 1 or 3. One more go with B needed, I think. Could have done it in two guesses if you'd tried something like 142 for your second guess. If B had been 'yes', then it's 145, if 'no', then 345.
I loved this video and can't wait to get this game! Thanks for the review! Did you get to see Deal with the Devil?
Deduction games are also my favorite!
Great Review !!! So glad you love the game !
I seem to find a lot of logic deduction games from you haha. First Cryptid, then Search for Planet X, now this. This looks absolutely excellent, esp since there's a solo mode and supposedly millions of puzzles online. Another game to add to the "to buy" 😅
Thanks for this Dan. I too did logic puzzles as a kid. I too had a Commodore 64 and remember my first program was a random number generator. I had no clue, then, that I'd wind up teaching computer science. So, this game is certainly on my radar. It will be interesting to see the connections between this game and
computational thinking skills.
Fellow engineer here and I love deduction games, can't wait to get my hands on this. Awesome review 🙂
The deduction looks interesting but no player interaction.
I missed the con due to being sick this year. Thankfully my friends picked up the games I wanted from the Con. Thanks for taking the time for this review and I hope you feel better soon!
