Mario as Chris Pratt is totally fine and here’s why
You know that pipe Mario comes out? Like he was a normal citizen in like new donk city and his voice is still the same

the chris pratt voice is completely fine. trust me, any kind of fake-sounding italian voice on a protagonist would have worn the audience down.

@Switch Stop Luigi's speaking voice was teased by Charlie Day in his Jimmy Kimmel interview. He says something like "Don't you tell nobody nothing about this!" which is a nod to the Brooklyn accents they originally had before SM64. It should give you a better idea on the accent Chris is using.

I actually think it fits the movie better compared with the cartoony Italian accents. I can't wait to hear the brothers bantering.
He's put on a slight Brooklyn accent, which goes along with the canon that he's from Brooklyn.
For all who are still upset on Chris Pratt voicing Mario keep this in mind that this is still a movie and they wanted lots of folks who never play video games to go see the film and for that you need star power as in the 1979 Superman The Movie. Also I'm 100% okay with Chris Pratt voicing Mario as I grew up seeing and playing Mario games as far back as Donkey Kong in 1981 and saw ton of voice actors playing Mario other than Charles Martinet.
