Tried it, got an immediate refund! Boring as hell, stupid, woke and just the worst RPG I ever played in my entire 40yrs of gaming! Also, it's an over head view which is also a game breaker for me. Over head is so retro, NES days are over people! All this amazing high tech to make first person or third person views in awesome 3D worlds…and instead they went with an over head view. Sheer and absolute brain dead stupidity!
this is old-school game where everything matters, that's why people spend 3 hours in character creation screen, combining race, sub-race, class, sub-class, creating their ideal build

This is by far the best game of 2023. Not just best role playing game, but overall game of the year material, the amount of freedom and entertainment this game offer is amazing. Larian studios really outdid themselves from divinity 2 to this now! What a journey to see this small studio grown to what it is today

I kinda went into this game blind, I thought it was going to be like Diablo. I was kinda upset at first because everything was super overwhelming but I’ve fallin in love with the game. I would get lost a lot and run into things that still made being lost not that bad and eventful

I needed to say something… I am reading most of the posts (and also have the same isue problems) but I have to say somethig. 20 years ago (bg 2) played this game, wether you are evel or good… same ending… in this case (bg3) nobody wants to be mindflayer, at bg2 – nobody wantedo be stalker (bg2) – (like orin the red is in bg3) … but, either way… you become one… even you try so hard not become one… dev did not make step foward to make "actualy" your choice for ending… there must be (to be continued…) as was in bg 1 and 2… so, (even if I am not so pleased with "happy ending for all") they want to continue with neverending struggle to produce bg4 (or else). so-… what ever you choose… CAN NOT BE HAPPY ENDING. I am only disapointed in romancing (just because of advertising bg3), to much bugs. Just to say (I am s fan – I have collector edition of bg 1,2… never (ever)winters… ). If you accept (mentaly) this… just play game, and do not be persued (shall I roll dice?) to advertising (17000 endings they promiced – it is insaine – no one expect this summm of animations… wake up).

After 50 hours, im just done.. i have no reason to want to explore or continue the story of starfield ,so im downloading this
Welp 2023 has its game of the year.
Super intrigued to what compiles players to like this game. I praise the unsurmoundable amount of options but this game is not friwndly to newcomers or to people outside D&D no tutorial and the hud yet simple for a Master dungeons and dragons player is alien to anyone else. Character creator and style are subpar and well dubious taste on aesthetics to say the best.
My wonder is does the core tabletop experience for combat feel gratificating at all or is just a time stopper of the main action and a tedious avalanche of dice rolls with severe RNG and dubious translations on open ended spell/skills/abilities/features that end up very limited on use [obviously because it is a videogame and has limitations] hard vapped
The whole game seems to be focus, in terms of combat, stack biggest gun you win.
I used to hate turnbased combat, I never touched a game with that in 47 years. Well until now. And I'm not only loving it, it took my heart by storm and is my new no. 1 game of all time. It put Witchter 3 on 2 and GTA SA on 3. Larian wrote history with this masterpiece. It's not only GOTY, that's easy – nah it's the game of the decade!
First playthrough took 180 hours.Had to change to "easy" half way into Act 3 as difficulty spiked absurdly – and even that was too difficult (yes… I played BG1 and 2, mostly on hard. Hell, I even bought my first gaming PC to play BG1 back in 1999). Some of the later fights are really badly designed for immersive play and require preplanning which implies foreknowledge the character would not have. This is a big "no" for me.
The story itself, the graphics… everything else is awesome. It sucks you in and keeps you there. It's just the damn combat that railroads you into save spamming, min maxing and "builds", which kills the RP immersion that the game otherwise delivers in shiploads.
Most games you are OP towards the end. BG3 is the other way round.
