I have all the respect in the world for Chris Pratt and the other films he stared it. It could be a number of things mainly bad casting and bad directions on the studios part. Even forgetting that its mario the acting itself is bland and emotionless. It does not feel like mario not even a toned down mario its just so poorly acted and the voice wasnt the right choice for mario. I don't have any problems with the other characters.
I'm actually really looking forward to it. The art and animation look spectacular! And I love Bowser and Toad's voices. I don't hate Mario's, but it will definitely take some getting used to.
We need to remember that its Illumination is making this movie. So we're really really really screwed.

Mario does such a good impression of Chris Pratt, it's uncanny.
I have the same idea with the voice of mario. It kinda surprised me when a lot of people were actually really liking the voice. The voice could have been a little more high pitched
In my opinion the French version is way better for Mario, if many won't watch the movie due to Mario being Chris Pratt only. I will probably watch both versions when it does come out, although when watching in French, I will miss Jack Black as Bowser as he really puts effort into it!

I'm disappointed in the Mario voice, but I'm not going to complain about the Toad voice because I would not be able to watch a whole movie of Squeaky McChainsmoker.
Given the scenes with Mario and toad powering together hell no those original voices I'm not going to count they were great on people's ears to the point that people jump out of the movie theaters if they had windows normal voices can work it just sucks that Chris Pratt needs to work on his toad is fine.
